Downs................and Ups :)

DOWN - Headed out the door to the hospital for rotator cuff surgery and bicep repair.
UP - These yahoos brought him cards and treats :)
DOWN - He's restricted with a sling, blood clot prevention hosery, ice pack machine, but otherwise feeling good, not too much pain, and anxious to start physical therapy next week.
UP - I went over and helped Mom and Dad can 48 bottles of tomato juice :)  They are the best, and work so hard for their family.
DOWN - Rog is going stir crazy !
UP - Shirlee and CJ braved three little boys at the Ogden Temple.  1. Full of questions  1. Mr. Onry and 1. Didn't want to wear the booties, and wanted to be carried up and down the many stairs.......
UP and DOWN - I bottled Sweet Pickle Relish, but it turned out too runny, and I only got 6 pints our of two batches.  I don't think I added enough cucumbers.
UP and DOWN - Treyson's game was cool and rainy and windy.  We lasted until half time, then went home.  They did end up winning though.
UP - Tagg is looking like a jack-o-lantern.  He is losing teeth right and left.  That big one on top is the "daddy" one (his words), that finally came in after he lost the "baby" one on Christmas Eve 3 years ago in an accident at the shop.
UP - Payson will be starting Pre-school on Monday.  He went on Thursday, to try it out (with mom and dad), and he had a great time.  Hopefully it will go really well :)
We walked across the bridge to see the tree that has come down on the other side of the creek.  On the way back I got this shot of mom and dad.  Wish it would have been closer :)
Selfie on the bridge - my new OBIT picture :)
Roger is saying "Hurry, I'm getting dizzy!"
Cameron and Manda and Bren went to OUT OF AFRICA today and had a good time.  Cam Schutt was with her dad this weekend.
Our good friends - the Prescotts.  I was really happy to see this picture.  They haven't all been together for A LONG TIME.  Finally this weekend !   So glad they got a pic.

Ice from the sky and Ice from the bucket

Hail came down on Tuesday afternoon about 3:30 pm.  Morgan was inundated.  In total that day we received and inch of rain.   I personally think certain areas received more.  The water did a number on our newly laid bark.   The hail stones in some places were marble sized or bigger.  Treyson was hit in the head and had welts, as he and Tagg and a friend were leaving school.
Hours later, mom still had evidence in her flower garden.
Dad's garden is still okay, and we got another big cabbage to eat.  Can you believe the size?
Yesterday, Treyson and Tagg stopped on their way home from school.  It makes me happy to have them stop by.  They are two sweet boys !
Roger - after the fact
Me - after the fact

Rog and I finally took the time to do the ALS Ice bucket challenge.  It was a fun opportunity to join in support for the horrible disease that took Linda's life.

Rog goes in for shoulder surgery this morning.   We'll post more on that later.

A week in our life.......

Treyson and Tagg started school this week.  Treyson had to stay home the first day because of PINK EYE.  This picture is actually the 2nd day.  They loved it !   Treyson is in 3rd, Tagg in 1st.  Thatch misses them while they are gone!
Zac and CJ celebrated their 11th anniversary on the 21st.  They went to dinner and to the Ogden Temple Open House.
Raspberries are on at Grandma D's.  Everyone gets in on the picking, except me :(   There are just too many wasps, and I totally freak !   The kids sure love them though.
Fresh out of the garden.  Fresh for supper !  YUM!!
Dad has SUCH a beautiful garden.  We are so blessed to be able to reap his hard work and harvest.  Thanks so much Mom and Dad.  We love you.
They have to each get a carrot.  Brush off the dirt, munch away :)  We gather the garden refuse in the big red garbage cans daily, and take the the animals in our barnyard.
They LOVE this time of year !
We watched the boys on Thursday while Zac and CJ went out for their anniversary.

A little treat at J's
Saturday morning soccer.  Treyson is the tall one in white.
The little boys had fun on the "toys" during the game.
The Mannings came up for a quick lunch between  games and rain storms on Saturday.  They are both appraisers I've worked with.  Lisa is my rep from the USTC, and Jeremy helped with my commercial reappraisal last year.  He works for Summit County.
Football game later in the day at Layton.  Treyson wears Roger's old number 44 :)
After the game - a team meeting.  They lost:(  Coaches are Bill Ross, Jon Cannon, Gilgen, and others.  Ryker (Casey's son) and Treyson are on the same team.
Fun times !

Tonks Reunion

Thatch was my buddy at the Tonks Reunion last Saturday.
Erika and family were out of town
Mark and family - other responsibilities
Rog and Zac and CJ and Treyson and Tagg - 2 hour ?!?!? (are you kidding me?) little league football game...........

We had a fun time anyway :)
There weren't as many kids this year.......it was kinda low-key.
Thatch played really well in the sand.
And he was about 1 of 4 kids who got a shot at the Pinata
My cousin brought her puppy............
This is a 200 pound Great Dane.
Can. You. Believe. It????
Beautiful
Unbelievable?
She says she won't eat dry dog food, and only steaks and chicken.......
Whoa.......
Rog and the crew came after the football game was over, and mostly after the reunion was over, but it worked out just fine, and we had cold pizza, my famous macaroni salad, cottage cheese, Pepsi.  Who could ask for any better?  Then we helped mom and dad clean up and haul everything back to the shop and garage.  Great Times !!!

Round Valley Ride with Scott

This post is a little late - but way back in July, we took a Ranger Ride with Zac and CJ and family with Scott Rees as our guide, up into the mountains above Round Valley.  This was BEFORE the Tunnel Hollow Fire.

We stopped at "The Pit" - which is an old gravel pit, now filled with water.

The boys took a minute to dip their toes :)

Thatch was onry and tired for most of the trip, but we endured.......

We all rode together, so it wasn't the usual dusty dusty ride.  Scott drove, Roger rode up front with him.

The boys sat in the back on old cushions, and Zac and CJ and I rode in the back seat.   We spotted deer, a moose, porcupines, wild turkeys, sage grouse......and more.

This is a view of the little town of Henefer (when we got up on top)
Where was Thatch?  I can't remember.... maybe asleep in the Ranger I think.
Many thanks to Scott, it was a great evening ride !
