Thanksgiving 2023

Pretty low key in AZ, just a little family dinner at home (Therese and Elle, and Lee and Penny came for the day)  Also a walk to the park was included.  Love this pic !  Beautiful boy, Beautiful colors.
This made me SMILE.  Treyson is always so careful about what he eats, always balancing proteins and carbs, etc.  Today he said he was going to EVERYTHING, and HE DID !!  Love him !!
The expecting parents :)

We showered her with gifts for the baby since we won't be able to be there on Saturday for the real shower.

Low Key Thanksgiving

How's that for a sad picture?  Roger will be glad, as he doesn't like his picture taken.  We had a very nice dinner, which Roger and I can handle without breaking a sweat, so I guess we are pretty much "adulting" now, haha !  I should have gotten a group picture, but did not.   We were a slim crew this year.  Zac and CJ and Tagg and Thatcher (Treyson was sick), Erika and Aaron (last minute guests, but we were so happy to have them), Mom and Dad, and LuAnn, and me and Roger.   We are thankful for our many blessings.  Life is good.

Thanksgiving 2021

Cam had THREE Thanksgivings this year - lucky girl.  This one is with her dad's side of the family, on the day before Thanksgiving.  Then she helped her mom with Thanksgiving Dinner at their home, and that evening, celebrated with Josiah's family.  Good times !!
Here is our crew (minus me taking the pic) - before the CHAOS arrived aka (Zac's family and Landon's family) - haha !!

Mom, Ashley (Colton's wife - he had to work :(  ), Tiana (in from New York - Yeah !!) Brian and Lizzy, Roger D (smiling as usual - haha), Dad, Aaron and Erika
And here is everyone around the table
Dad, Mom, Kacey, Landon Thatcher, Payson, Tiana, Ashley, Treyson, Roger (at the end), then coming up the other side from the back..... Aaron, Erika, Lizzy, Brian, Bexlee, Brightyn, CJ, Zac & Tagg
There was relaxin' going on...........
Handprint updates on a table cloth we made Grandma and Grandpa 20 years ago.  Needed to get all of the additional grand-kids added.  Still need to add some more that weren't here (Dax, Camryn, Brendon, Cameron C., Abbyl)   It was funny to see Ashley's hand next to Colton (who made his print when he was 3 years old).
Of course the wives put their prints next to their husbands (with a little help from their kids)
Card playing.......
Great help from a Great Grandchild - mixing cream for pies
We let the boys handle the cutting and serving
Fun times
Kuk is such a great second grandma to my grandkids
Outside for swing.........
and some wrestling............

This was a few years ago.........look how they have changed (below)

Those boys are getting bigger, that's for sure.

This picture will only be good for a few more days before a new little girl comes !!!  We are so excited to meet her.
Manda and Bren - won't be too much longer for them to get their new arrival too !

Here is Erika's latest family picture.
Sorry we were missing Colton and Lance for Thanksgiving

Here are Mark at Carrie at the UTES game a week ago.
We love our Family !!

Notes for me for next year:   Don't forget the can of cranberries (dad missed them), and also sodapop (Thank you Bettinson's for the last minute run to the store).  We can't subsist on slush and tomato cocktail alone !!!).  We had a 16 pound turkey, and there was enough (but not a lot left over).  Pioneer women mashed potatoes (10 pounds - enough with a fair amount left over), Dressing (made from all of the left over buns from the Property that didn't get eaten.  I bought them home and threw them in the freezer).  Gravy was excellent - Ham (just enough !! - everyone loves ham !!

Thanksgiving 2020

This year we went to Zac and CJ's for dinner
I made 3 pies, the stuffing, the ham, and slush
Everything was decorated so beautifully, and CJ and Zac had things totally under control.  Much calmer than at our house in the past.
Zac was the master turkey carver
The boys were all groaning and full on the floor after dinner
Grandma Ben got down with Thatcher for a little Bae Blade action
Zac ate too much also !!
It's been a great week, remembering what we are thankful for.  I'm grateful for our prophet, who led us to flood social media with all things we were thankful for.
Even Cam got in on the action !

Odds and Ends......first part of November

Thatcher came over one night to hang out - can't remember where everyone else was at his home......... but nights like these are few and far between, and we were sure glad to have him come and be with us.
This is my new table/bench I got from the DI.  It works on SO many levels !!  We've been looking for a bench/stool, so when Roger needs to sit down and take off his MUCK boots, he can.  This was JUST the right height, AND has a bottom shelf that holds a basket (full of shoes), AND can fit right underneath the regular table with just a quick easy push.  I painted it up, EASY PEASY, and put soft sliding felt on the bottom of the legs, and it is PERFECT !!
Election is over, and my job is secure for another 4 years !!  Happy Day.  I have said to Roger, and thanked God SO MANY TIMES for this blessing, and I KNOW and RECOGNIZE this blessing in our life !!  As a side note, I've always been the one who is the BOTTOM vote getter, and this time I wasn't so that was very gratifying also.
I guess CJ decided she didn't want these triplets, so we are tying to sell them now.  Hopefully we can, though it's not the best time (now).  I've put them on KSL and let Steve Bell know.  One girl, two boys.......  Tiny fainters, so fun.
Tagg was a big help - grinding off the old screws from the TREX decking we put on the front porch of the pump house shed.  Thanks Tagg !!
They didn't take out the Welch Ditch Dam this year......... we don't know why.

This is always a worry !!   I try not to stress about this........... but it's a worry.  I feel strongly that we should all wear masks in public.  I can't understand the logic of those who don't want to follow this.
Josiah and Cam - Sure miss seeing and talking to this sweet girl.  Our trip to AZ was cancelled because of COVID.  It will probably be Spring before we can get down there :(
This meme made me LAUGH OUT LOUD !!!
Treyson and Thatcher are getting ready to wrestle...........and of course COVID has affected this.  Cancelled for 2 weeks at least........ DANG COVID :(

I ordered some new shoes from Amazon !  $19.99, came in 2 days, soft leather (or maybe fake leather?) and so comfortable !  Thanks Stacy for the link !
Love it when my grandkids text ME and ask for something....... Treyson wanted this recipe the other night, and easy peasy, I pulled out my cookbook, and took a picture with my phone, and texted right back !!
Good idea Cam !!
Manda's new kitchen - the remodel has had it's hiccups......... but she is being patient (in between meltdowns - haha)  Love the Quartz !!
Beautiful sink !!
Thanksgiving is coming soon !   Where are you going?   We are planning on going to Zac and CJ's and are looking forward to it.   Hopefully we can keep COVID at bay !!
Kind of hard to tell in this picture, (scroll back up to see the other one) but Roger and Zac decided to take matters into hand, and removed the Welch Ditch Dam themselves.  Cold hard work.  Next time we will move sooner.
