Kings Peak Hike

On July 25th and 26th and 27th - These two were supposed to hike Kings Peak.  The highest point in Utah.  But then plans changed.
See that mountain in the very middle, in the far background?  That's King's Peak.  See Payson in the foreground?  After he and Landon and Kacey and the other hiked into "base camp" on Friday, in preparation for Saturday's summit, Pays and Lando got sick with back colds, so they ended up staying back at "basecamp" while the others went ahead with the hike.
Not feeling the best
This was the day before (Friday)
Landon, Kacey, Payson and friend.
This is the whole group who planned on making the Summit.
Probably a sheep herder's dog?  They are the best.
Sick boy
First day.
There's a smile :)
Quite the trooper  - even with a broken wrist.

Vacation with my friend

On Thursday, June 12th I drove with my friend Annette up through Evanston, then to Woodruff, stopping to visit with Kim Wilson (Rich County Assessor), then through Cokeville, and into Star Valley.  We stopped at the temple, and I was able to do an initiatory session.  My goodness, what a teeny tiny temple !!

Traveled on to Jackson Hole...................
Where we had seats front and center to watch a play.

I follow Molly Bice Jackson (Smally Spice) on Instagram, and she was one of the leads.
Next morning we were up bright and early, headed north to Jenny Lake.  We hiked around the southern tip of this lake, and up a canyon to Hidden Falls, and part-way to Inspiration Point.  We caught the boat back over.  My knees had just about had it !!

We had a great time  - Check out our hike here !

After the hike we headed home, stopping to visit with Kim Olsen Jones in Smoot, then decided to take a different route home, going through Montpelier (saw the new temple being built), stopped at Liberty Cemetery for a short walk (and a scare of lost keys!), then over the mountain coming out at Mink Creek (beautiful), and then Preston, and down through Cache Valley, stopping at Gossner Cheese Factory.

Made it home by 6pm.  It was a great couple of days, and we never ran out of things to talk about !!

Vacation Time !!

Roger and I and my sister Erika left on Friday, February 21st and drove to Vegas, where Erika and I saw Donny Osmond in concert !  It was excellent.  Thank you Kuk :)
We dropped her off at the airport early Saturday morning, then Rog and I headed to AZ !!!
This was where we got to see our Arizona grandkids, Cash and Cam.
It was great to see Manda, Bren, and Josiah too (haha)
Amanda is just about 2 1/2 weeks recovered from her 2nd hip replacement, and is doing so well, I almost forget she had it done !!

We headed back to Vegas and Mesquite, and on the way we hiked in the Valley of Fire State Park, a couple of days later we hiked in Zions National Park also.  Roger humored me, and I really love and appreciate his support in the things I want to do.
I also went to the new Red Cliffs Temple in Washington, and the Las Vegas Temple too.
Our last two days were spent in St. George and Hurricane, watching Payson play baseball, and hanging out with these cuties !
Pays is such a great ball player, and we love to watch him and give him our support.
He turned 13 years old while we were there !!!

We got home on Saturday, March 1st.  We haven't had that long of a vacation since our Hawaiian Cruise in October of 2007.  We had a great time, but are glad to be home.

September at the Rich Ranch

Zac has been doing alot of hiking with friend, Stan Durrant in preparation for a big hike at the end of the month.  This is a upper red castle lake high in the Uintas.   He hiked this on September 15th
The next week (on the 22nd), he and Stan hiked the Great Western Trail, starting near Highway 193 in Layton, and going up on the mountains (that we can see from Morgan to the west), and walking along top of those mountains, clear down to Emigration Canyon at the top of Big Mountain.  This picture shows they approaching the Radar towers.
This picture shows Porterville in the valley in the far background.
Treyson is still working out regularly
And he turned 19 years old on the 29th !!
Here he is with Grandma and Grandpa D
Also, on that day, the wind came up and blew the empty swimming pool (just emptied two days earlier), and ruined it :(
Happy  19th Treyson
Doesn't look like much dog watching here !
And guess who got a NEW used car ?
Tagg had to come and show Grandpa Roger
Proud Boy
