Dog Room Done

Such a life !  Treyson and Talon and Rex (corralled) while painting is completed.  I believe Treyson is playing a video game (online) with Lance Bettinson (his cousin) away at UC Berkley in California.

The curtains I made turned out just right for the kennels.  It was quite the pain to get them put on with snaps that had to be modified, but Zac was up for it.

It's been a long time coming, with various states of getting different parts done (kennels, box seating, cabinets, washer/dryer, doggie wash................but it's done !

Sleepover !

It is great to gather around the fire pit at th property and roast up some marshmellows
The best and easiest way to make S'mores - using cookies that have the chocolate in place.
Thatcher can roast a MEAN marshmellow
As you can see in the far background, the Welch Ditch Dam isn't in yet, so the creek is low.  Boy the kids had a great time fishing, and playing along the banks, and making dams with rocks and sticks.
When it started to get dark, we came home and had..........what else?
The LITTLES favorite - Tomato Soup and grilled cheese sandwiches.

Bright and Pays hadn't come up for the Ranger Ride prepared to sleep over, so Kacey had run to the dollar store to get some PJ's.  Bright's was covered with her favorite - FLAMINGOS!!  She was so excited.   It took quite the doing to get the 3 smaller ones showered.  We used to have the BIG TUB, but not since the remodel.  Grandpa and Tagg took over kitchen duties, while I supervised in the bathroom.  Two loads of laundry later, and everything was  CLEAN.
Next morning it was pancakes for breakfast.
Bright in the Barnyard

A little goat time in the barnyard.  These mamas will be having babies soon.
Up to the Porterville Cemetery to check out
the graves of their ancestors.

Here by the Dickson grave of Billy and Mary Ann, who are these kids 4 x Great Grandparents.
Grandkids - Me (Grandma) - Grandpa D (Great Grandpa) Grandpa Dickson with the Chickens (Great Great Grandpa) William Henderson Dickson (Great Great Great Grandpa) - and Billa and Mary Ann Dickson (Great Great Great Great Grandpa and Grandma)
Also, the Rich/White side of the family
William White is their 5 x Great Grandfather, who died about 120 years before they were even born !
Grandkids - Grandpa Roger, Grandma Ben (Great Grandma) - Elmer White (Great Great Grandpa), Lester White (3x Great Grandpa), Frederick White (4x Great Grandpa) - and finally William White (5 x Great Grandpa)

And finally BACK to the property to play in the creek some more and SWING SWING SWING

After the ride

:Lucky is such a good old dog.   He loves to have his belly scratched and rubbed by the kids.
The kids love the swing.  They like to have me recite the "Mean Old Clown who lives in the Ground" rhyme that I made up.  The fact that the ground drops off in back, makes it exciting, as they soar over the empty drop off.
Two Paysons.............. 6 years apart.  My poster of all the kids was moved from my wall in the house to the wall in the garage after our remodel.  It's fun to see the change.
Two Brights........   Same thing - 6 years apart.   I hope to keep this poster forever.
Bex, who has quit taking naps, was totally worn out by the Ranger Ride.
But she soon woke up, and then she and Kacey tried out the swing also.
Love the smiles
Roger and I  got the trampoline put up for the year the other day, and it doesn't take long for the kids to start having fun !
It was great to hang out for a time after the Ranger Ride.............then the parents left, and we had the two older yahoos sleepover !  But THAT's another post :)

Ranger Rides

Last Saturday, we took a ride with Landon and Kacey and kids.    It was a beautiful Day, temperature just right..........but PLENTY Dusty !!  It was a wonderful day to be with our family.

Kacey, Bexlee, Lola, Pays, and Bright  - ready to go :)
Oh - and Lando of course :)
When we got as far as we went - you could see our house through the trees.  It is fun to pick out landmarks, from so far away.
These guys and their faces :)    I made sandwiches, and they brought chips, and the jello I brought was completely melted, but they enjoyed the CHEESE BALLS, and drinks, and licorice, and OREOS!!  YEAH !!!

See what I mean about DUSTY ??  It was crazy crazy dusty.
On the ride out - wow Grandpa Roger, is that a hint of a smile?  I told Payson he reminded me of ME when I was a kid.  Sometimes I could NOT take a serious picture.
Don't mind my "pained" face.  I think the  DUST was in my eyes.........   See, Roger D. is doing it too.  Thank goodness Bright had goggles.
When we got home, Rog and Landon sprayed out the Rangers, while Bright loved on Lucky.
Someone needs a SHOWER
Now these guys on the other hand, went a DIFFERENT direction for their Ranger Ride........and they encountered MUD AND SNOW........
It was a little chilly - and the coats came in handy.
Zac's smile says it all - it was a FUN DAY !   They rode up Chalk Creek, and tried to make it to Whitney Reservoir with some co-workers/friends.
They got stuck MULTIPLE times, and had to be winched here and there.
The next day, our Ranger was having problems, and didn't want to run........guess we worked it too hard (haha) - nothing that Zac (or MV Polaris) can't fix !!
