Fair wrap up, and back to real life.......

Treyson and Tagg participated in some games at the fair, MC'd by no other than Grandma Shirlee !!  Yeah !  In this one, they had to chew up bubble gum, and blow a bubble.
The "Snails and Tails" guy had this gorgeous tortoise roaming around.  Thatch was fascinated with it.
Of course they like the SNAKES best of all
All Cam would do was touch it................
She finally held it - VERY GENTLY AND QUICKLY  :)
I sure appreciated my family for supporting me and Stacy and Brenda.  I really liked it when they hung out with me under the shade in our booth.
Tagg wore this backwards, because the front was dirty :)
We stopped by the Brooks to visit the kids, because we weren't sure if we would be seeing them before they left on Sunday.
Cam is sure going to miss Brightyn
Kacey still had ALOT of packing to do !
We headed up to the rodeo to save seats.  Cam is a GOOD seat saver (haha)
She LOVES the Chinese plate, but NOT the onions :)

Yeah !! - They came to the Rodeo !
These two girls are sure sweet :)

Sunday morning we made the rounds and said good-bye before Cam had to head for home.

Cam left this letter for us on the computer:
I Love Being Here And Love Seeing Every One And Kissing The Babies And Playing With Payson And Thatcher And I Hope I was A very big help with the baby and Payson.
I will miss you guys very much and do not want to go I love you and I sorry For fighting with Treyson  and  Tagg so Much . I Am Very Over Competitive And Thanks Kasey For Getting Me On Wicked And All The Other Rides I Never Thought I Would Do And I Love Her For It. The Derby Was Awesome And I was The Best Derby Ever. And The Rodeo Was Awesome Thanks For Taking Me And Ask CJ If She..... (and here she must have been interrupted, because this is where it ends :)

Kacey and kids were leaving also, for the Philippines.  They flew out of Terminal 1 with Alaskan Airlines, so we got to see them at the airport !

And again in the Security line !
(They made it back home to Landon as of this post, and all is well)
After I got Cam off to Arizona, I headed down to 5900 S. to see Roger's new digs at the Murray Depot.
Here he is - hard at work :)

Last night (Monday) we had a doozy of a thunder, lightening, and rain storm.

It poured, and our rain gutter was clogged.......
So what does Roger D. do?    He made me VERY VERY nervous !

A Random - mostly FOWL post :)

Our chickens are funny !   Look at the different sizes of eggs we get.  We regularly get monster sized ones, but that tiny one?  It was no bigger than a robins egg.  Too funny.

Our Tom turkey is just over 4 months old.  Can you believe how big and pretty he is getting?  I've ALWAYS wanted a turkey like this.

Now some may say he is ugly, with his blue head, and red neck (referred to as a WATTLE)  and those bumpy hanging red pustule looking things (that are actually know as CARUNCLES), but I don't think he is.  That funny looking thing coming off the top of his nose is  interesting.  It grows and shrinks, and grows and shrinks........it's called a SNOOD.  Now you know all about turkeys !

We got a few new additions to the barnyard last night.  3 chickens.  I really just wanted the Turken and the Wyandotte, but they threw in the barred rock for free.  This is a picture of our Turken.  No, she's not 1/2 turkey and 1/2 chicken, but she does look like a cross with her featherless red neck.  This is the best picture I could get.  She is really strange looking, that's for sure !

My doorbell rang last night, and one of my sweet little Primary girls dropped this by.  Thanks Jessi !!

Last but not least !  BUY FRANZ !!  In Ridley's now :)  Rog works at the Salt Lake bakery where they make all of the buns, but their bread is shipped from Nampa Idaho.  Pretty good stuff :)

Sleepover........Marathon........Bakery

We watched these three yahoos Friday night, while their mom and dad went to Provo to stay over for the Utah Valley Marathon.  Zac has to catch a bus at 3:30 am from the hotel, to take him up the canyon to Wallsburg for the 6 am start time.
The boys were so good.  They rode bikes, did chores, made pizza, and when it was time for bed, they went down with no problems and slept all night !  Easy Peasy :)

I met CJ down there about 8:30 am.  This red wagon?  Awesome !!   We found a shady place on the east side of University Avenue, and waited for Zac to finish.

Christel and Thatcher

These two turned into little pills.  It was a hard hour waiting for Dad.  They rang cowbells, yelled, played, bugged each other, drove mom and grandma a little crazy, etc. etc.

Even Spiderman was there to watch the runners :)

Treyson took this awesome pic of Zac as he ran by to the finish line.  Unfortunately, my phone camera has quite the delay....oh well :)

At the finish line - here comes Dad !  (that's the old Provo Tabernacle in the background, the LDS church is renovating it for a new temple)  It's quite the awesome sight.

They have it completely raised up on pylons.  Unbelievable !

Zac finished in about 3:45.  A little slower than usual.  He hasn't been training as hard, and he didn't feel the best afterwards :(

Ouch !!

Thatch liked the medal, until he got his finger caught in the orange middle part (that spins around)

The boys always have fun playing on the blow up toys.  This is the third year in a row we've been to the Utah Valley Marathon.  They put on quite the production.  It is great.

Love this little guy !

The whole fam dam...... The boys are just getting ready to run the kids 1K.  Treyson ran all by himself, and  Zac ran along side Taggarino.

Christel, Thatch and I waited at the finish line once again - cheering on the runners.  Yea !!!

Thatch conked out right after the kids 1K.  He fell asleep in my arms as I was bouncing him to the music that was playing.

It was a beautiful day - the weather was PERFECT !!!
Not too hot.  JUST RIGHT.

After the festivities in Provo, the boys and I headed back to visit Grandpa Roger at his new job at the Salt Lake Bakery.  We got a personalized tour, and the bun production was up and running and we were able to see the whole process.  The boys (and me) were fascinated.  Especially when we were able to see the 1000 pound DOUGH being stirred, and then dropped out into the "bowl".  It was a sight to see for sure.  It was fun to make the comparison to the 2 pound DOUGH that they had helped me make the night before for the pizza crust.  WOW, what a difference.

They each got a FRESH sesame seed bun to take and eat on the way home.  It was a GREAT DAY !!

Back to work....

As many of you know, Roger has been out of work since December, when Hostess shut their doors.   Over the past four months we had heard that U S Bakery had purchased the Salt Lake Hostess Bakery.

Roger D. has gone to work for Franz Family Bakery as of this week.  He will be doing basically the same work he did in Ogden for Hostess, only on a smaller scale.  Franz will take over the bread and bun market that was left sorely lacking with Hostess shut their doors, and expect to have great growth here in Utah markets.

Look for FRANZ bread and also Sweetheart, Eddy's, Standish Farms, and Grandma Emilie's, coming to stores soon !
