April 9, 2000
I can't believe it has been over a year since I've written.  Shame on me.  Today is Manda's 20th birthday.  She is back in Tempe Arizona.  As you may remember, she went down there in July of 1998, and stayed until January 1999.  She was home with us until October 1999, and has been back there since.  Things are going better for her this time.  She has a car, (which she purchased in Feb. 1999), and a job at a answering service company.  She is coming home for Zac's graduation from high school on June 2nd.  We will sure be glad to see her.

We sent her a crock pot for her birthday, filled with Filet Mignon, and some salsa, and raspberry jam.  I sent it overnight mail, and it cost us $50.00 to send.  When it got there, the crock pot and one of the jams was broken. We were very disappointed.  We are getting our money back thought, both for the crock pot and the postage.  She is sharing an apartment with Therese Haapala.  Things seems to be going good for her.

Zac is working for Mike Hair and Ron Cella, and CPI, Custom Pipes Inc.  They are a hop up shop for snowmobiles and ATV's.  Doing custom pipe work, etc.  Zac really likes his job.  He worked for Dave Durrant last summer, plumbing, and got burnt out on it.  He started with CPI in September/October.  He has really liked it.  They are great people, and Zac is good friends with Tim Hair, Mike's son.  Zac has got his sled really hopped up, and it runs great.

We have had a lot of great snowmobiling trips this past year.  We went to Pinedale Wyoming 3 times!  and were out almost every Saturday from the end of December, to just 2 weeks ago.  It's the greatest.

Zac will graduate in June.  It is hard to believe.  He went out on a date with Dezerae McMillan last night (to a movie)  They went with Kyle Kimbal (Bret and Gaylene's boy) and his date.  Zac also bought him a 4-wheeler (Polaris - Sport) from Mike Hair.  It is red and yellow.  He is planning on going to the desert with Kimbal's at the end of the month.  Zac sold his while Ford truck last September, and we bought a little Nissan car for him to bum around in.  He still doesn't know what he want to do with his life!?!?!?  He want's someone to just tell him what to do.  Ha Ha.  At least he still has a lot of options at this point.  Hopefully he will be able to make a good decision.  Last May he got caught with alcohol again (2nd time), and he is on probation until April 2001.  He has shaped up.  He was on restricted driving for 6 months (Sept- March).  He doesn't go out much.  He's a loner - I wish he had an easier time making friends, and feeling comfortable with people.  He's a great kid.  We love him alot.

Landon is in 6th grade now.  It is going much better than 5th.  He is with a much better group of kids.  His grades are great, and he wants to play the drums in the band.  Both he and Zac did steers last year, and they are going to do it again this year.  This year is Zac's last year.  Landon is a great little snowmobiler.  He is a good or better than me.  You should see him.  It scares me sometimes!!  We have had a great time this winter!!!  We have a great group of friends we go with, and our kids get along good, and they are the same ages, etc.  It works out great!!

I have lost 30/40 pounds since last year at this time.  Hopefully I can keep it up!!!  I am walking at the track with Jill Judd (2 miles) every weekday morning, and doing weights 3 times a week.  I have to go to Provo this week to meetings.  Mark and Carrie and kids have moved into mom and dad's basement.  They will be building a new home this summer, up on Grandpa Dickson's farmland on Hwy 66.  I'm getting tired of writing.  We are doing good.  I will try to write more often.

May 8, 2000
Sunday today.  Roger worked, and the boys and I stayed around home.  Zac bought him a new truck (1996 Ford F350 single cab  grey/white) yesterday. He'll probably pick it up tomorrow or Tuesday.  He went to the girls dance 2 weeks ago with a group of kids, and it seems he has really fallen for the girl who asked him.  Amber Carrigan, Neil and Chris Carrigan's daughter.  She is a senior too, and is 2 days younger than Zac.  They had a good time 4-wheeling , eating at Lonestar, and going to the Girl's Choice Dance (2 weeks ago), and since then have been hanging out.  They went bowling Friday night, and then she rode down with us (Zac, and me and Roger) to look at the truck, get AV gas, and got a pizza, and then they went back to a drive-in movie last night with a group of kids, and then this afternoon, they rode up to Logan to see her sister.  They are planning on going out to the dunes this weekend (sand dunes (Jerico) near Delta).  She is a really nice girl, and she and Zac get a long really well, and seem to have much in common.  I hope he can keep his head on straight, and not get hurt!

Landon starts baseball games tomorrow.  He's on the Rockies, with Rick Patterson as coach.  He will catch and pitch.

November 4, 2000  Saturday
What is going on in my life lately?   It’s been a few months since I’ve written.

Mandy came home the 1st of June and visited for a few days and saw Zac graduate.  She’s back in Phoenix now, has a new job with AT&T, and absolutely loves it. She is so smart, and is doing so well.  She is taking tests at work which actually count as college credits, and I know she will go far!!!!! She is doing really good. They, (her, Therese, and Chris (Therese's boyfriend) moved into a new apartment last week.   We are going down to see her in one week.  We will leave next Friday, the 10th of November, and drive all the way down in 12-13 hours.  Stay at her place Friday night, and Saturday.  Drive to Laughlin on Sunday,  stay in Mesquite on Monday, and be in St. George on Tuesday.  My UAC meetings start Wednesday morning.  We will go home either Friday or Saturday, depending on whether of not Morgan High’s football team plays for the championship title on Saturday in Cedar City.

Zac graduated!  We are proud.  He and Amber Carrigan broke up.  He was hurt pretty bad, but it’s for the best.  She wasn’t ready to settle down, but he was.  He worked the summer for Dave Durrant plumbing, and is now back a Custom Pipes Inc.  He likes it there.  He is getting his sled all ready for the new season.  Doesn’t date, just work, work, work.

Landon is Landon!!  He was ordained a deacon in July when he turned 12, and has passed the sacrament.  We need to go to church more though.  He hangs out with Jaden Dickson quite a bit.  They (Mark’s family) are living with mom and dad (since March).  They are building a new house over on Grandpa Dickson’s farm.  It is huge!!! They are done sheet rocking, and hope to be in by Christmas!! (They didn’t get in until April 2001) Landon played football (of course) and was a star (of course).  He is in 7th grade now, and is doing excellent.  His grade for 1st quarter was all A’s and A-‘s.  We are so proud.  He also showed a steer this year at the fair, but isn’t going to next year (he’s taking a break!)

In our life (Rog and me) we are doing good.  I don’t like work, but what else is new.  It’s not fun having a job where everyone hates you all the time.  I’m taking (2) college classes.   One at night, (one night a week) and one over the Internet.  I am doing pretty good.  On my mid-term, I got 94 %, which was the second highest in the class!!! I am proud.

Some sad things have happened too.  On August 30, 2000, our good friend Lori Richins killed herself.  We were all shocked and upset.   Lori and Bart were part of our snowmobiling group.  Lori leaves behind, two daughters, TeArie (17) and Nacie (14).   And just today, we found out that our other friends Blake and Susan Rich, are separated.  They have 7 kids, Tom 16, Katrina 15, Kourtney 12,  Cassie, Lacey’D, ???????? and Ariana who is about 4.  What a mess!!!

Well I better get the house cleaned up, and get myself ready.  We are going to the quarter final football game at the football field at noon.  Morgan is playing ????
