Down on the Ground............

Mystery...........  The wire to our garage door sensor (about a foot off the ground) has been cut (doesn't look chewed, but I'm blaming Bandit).  Roger and Zac tried to get the "eye" sensors lined back up (after having reconnected the wires).  Bandit insisted in being right there in Zac's face.  They never did get it working.  I guess a call to the Garage Door Doctor is in order :(     Dang Dog........

A little bit of History (YOUR HISTORY)

My GREAT GREAT Grandpa William Tonks was Morgan's 1st BLACKSMITH
This photo was taken in 1868
This blacksmith shop was located on the NW corner of 200 E and Young Street, right where the current Seminary building is now.
Can you guess which one of these men is my Grandpa?
He is standing in the middle of the picture, with a black vest (done up), with his hands in his pockets.
Here is my lineage.........

Me (Gwen)
Mom (Veloy)
Grandpa Tonks (Frank)
Great Grandpa Tonks (Charles)
Great Great Grandpa Tonks (William)

He was born in England, and learned the blacksmith trade there from his father.  He joined the Mormon church at 18 years of age.  His parents never converted to Mormonism.
In 1859 he crossed the plains with an ox cart and covered wagon with the Mormon pioneers bringing his family to Utah.

The family moved to Morgan in 1866, and in 1872 he bought the large tract of land in Round Valley which the Tonks family stills owns to this day.

This is a picture of the old home he built that used to be in Round Valley.  I remember playing in this as a little girl, but we always got in trouble when we did.  I guess the grownups didn't want us getting hurt in there.  It was abandoned for many years, and then was torn down and Bruce Tonks built his new home there in the 1970's.

It's been awhile...........shall we play "Catch Up"?

They have turned the old Valley Implement (it will always be that to me), into a tumbling studio.  Thatcher has started going there once a week.  Shersti Walkter (Mark and Janene's daughter is one of the teacher/owners.  You can stand outside and watch through the windows.
This was in late January - Still snow on ground...............
Brotherly Advice
Tagg really gets into the game.
Many of the basketball games have been "double booked" on Saturdays, so we have to divide and conquer.
We don't have this as much as we used to, but the kids still love it - Grandpa Roger's famous macaroni and tomato juice.
The weather kept getting warmer and warmer, and the snow all melted (that was until yesterday), when we got hammered again.  Guess it's still WINTER !!
Rog and Zac are working hard to get Kenzie's new house all fixed up.  She hopes to move in by the end of February.
Landon came up and brought Hadli and Brightyn one evening, and we had a great time.
Payson was over at Thatcher's for Thatcher's birthday "friend" party, and Kacey was having a girl's night.
Brightyn is doing gymnastics/tumbling too.  Here are her SPLITS !!  Go Bright !!
My famous pizza, makes for good leftovers !!
Treyson is # 27.  He's been taking a strength and agility training class from Jeremiah Bean, and has really improved.  He is a layed back player, but has learned to contribute, and doesn't mind taking a shot when he gets the chance.
We were able to go and see Landon and Kacey's new house.  It's almost finished.  It is located in West Haven.  Everything will come together at once......... New House..........New Baby.......... Two closings...........(sell old/buy new)  Crazy times !!
Landon is in Philadelphia today for meetings.  Hope he gets back soon.
Zac and Roger working to get the Welch Ditch diversion dam outlet cleaned out for repair.
Kenzie's kitchen is coming along
We celebrated TWO birthdays.  Thatcher and Tagg, who turned 6 and 10.
This is the FAMILY party
Tagg is getting so handy in many things.  I think he has ALOT of Zac in him.  He's helping with Kenzie's home.
Grandpa D checking out Zac's idea for the Welch Ditch Dam Diversion
Had a great morning with my friends from the West Porterville Ward Relief Society Presidency.
More basketball - Advice from Dad
Thatcher and his friend CJ - hanging out at the basketball games
New flooring is done, and also the barn "bedroom" door hung.  This has got Zac excited (hopefully) to hang the barn door in their bedroom (leading to the bathroom) at their home.
Fun things - Payson and Brightyn went to the aquarium.  This is in the bottom of the Layton Hills Mall, and it is really awesome.
Tagg visited the State Capitol for a field trip.  Can you spot him?  Look over Representative Wilde's left shoulder, and up a little bit.
Grandma Carol had a sleepover, the grandkids sure had fun there.
Nana Daw made Thatcher a hat and scarf on her new knitting machine !  Yahoo !!
More basketball - a little brotherly one on one.
Cam went to Disneyland with her Theater group from school.  They had a great time.
Manda and Bren's beautful tree in their backyard.
Somebody wishes she was back at Disney !!
