Saturday in Round Valley

We went for a ride up in the mountains of Round Valley on Saturday. Zac is in charge of a certain section of road (keeping it cleared of trees, brush, rocks), and so we all went and helped and had a picnic. It was a great day !

Last night there was a storm..............

So I did what any self-respecting Grandma would do.
I grabbed my grandsons, and we went and sat on the front porch.

My dad used to do this with me. I remember it like it was yesterday, and now I LOVE thunderstorms. I hope to make some memories with my grandkids.

As the rain came down, we saw the lightning flash, and then waited for the BOOM of the thunder. It was so much fun !!

Treyson even got out in the rain, and was calling to the thunder.
He has SUCH a fun imagination.

The storm came and went, and look what popped out after wards !!

The other morning..........

We had breakfast at the park. Morgan County Search & Rescue cooks a good breakfast in conjunction with Morgala Days.

Then we took a nice long walk around Morgan. So glad Morgan City made this "walking path", it goes along side the Weber River and Riverside Park, and Morgan High School sports fields. It's just beautiful.

With all of the rain, the Weber River is really high, and muddy

Today I will plant a garden

I took off work today. Hopefully tonight I can post a picture of a planted garden. IF the rain stays away :)

5pm - Garden is planted !! Thanks to my mom and dad who are master gardeners. I started planting about 3pm, and got a row of peas, and row of carrots, and a 1/2 row of radishes, and a 1/2 row of lettuce in. They came just as I was starting on the corn. We got 4 rows of corn planted, and will plant 4 more rows in 2 weeks. We also planted a Roma tomato, a crook neck squash, a yellow zucchini, a cucumber, and a pumpkin. I am so happy. Stay tune for a new picture later tonight.

5 kilometers = 3.10685 miles. OR 3 miles. and 188.0 yards

This morning we met at Morgan High soccer fields for the 9th Annual Gerald Andersen Memorial 5K. Zac and CJ would be participating.

One little boy was EXTREMELY excited !

Zac was nervous :)

Tagg was content - he is such a good boy

I tried to get a shot of them running, and all I got was CJ in a BLUR...........she must have been running very very fast :)

I ended up entering Treyson in the kids 1K, so that he could have a number. Of course he wanted to take off after the adult runners, so I went along with him. We made it to the front of the high school, and the leaders in the race were just coming back, so we cut in front of the high school, and caught the walking path back. Dad (Zac) came upon us on the path behind the high school. Such a sweet sight, Treyson was SO excited to see his Dad, and they ran along for a few yards till Dad pulled away. We took the short cut, and met him soon after he crossed the finish line.

Dad's all done, and it only took him 21 minutes and 25.2 seconds

Food for the runners, and let me tell you - Treyson ran - ALOT !! Maybe not the 5K, but for a 3 year old, he covered ALOT of pavement today.

Here are our neighbor's the Streadbecks, and a couple of strays :)
Clint, Hayden and Zaine, my Sunday School boys.
The Streadbeck family did really well. Morgan took 1st place in her category - Way to go !!

Mom's finally done. She pushed Tagg 99% of the way in the stroller.
Way to go CJ !!

CJ and some friends who participated

Mom and Dad went the extra lap with Treyson on the kid's 1K.

"I want to go too " !!

Treyson got a medal (ribbon)

Tagg got a kiss from a doggy :)

Zac ended up 4th place in his age group.
2nd place if you count Morgan runners - he got a ribbon too !
CJ won a gift certificate to Aspen Mills.
A good time was had by all :)

New Invention

This past weekend it rained, and the wind blew.......
Wind is the enemy at the Property. What a mess !!
This is what happens when you get tired of raking the traditional way.....
You get creative !!
I think we would have done a better job if we could have kept the laughing under control :)

Somebody's getting a GARDEN !

I have begged and pleaded, and finally..........the farm equipment is moved, a space is cleared, the grass/weeds are sprayed, and I think it's going to happen !!

I just may get a garden spot. We will probably be eating peas in August, but that's okay. In 32 years of marriage, this will be a first, not counting the disaster of 1985/86 (when we took over Dad's garden while they went to California for a year)

Everyone had to take a look at Grandpa's new tiller.

Then Treyson decided he needed a ride..........

And Tagg just about came unglued

"If mom won't put me down, I'll just throw myself out of her arms "

Grandpa will make everything thing ALL BETTER - and of course, Treyson switched rides, because Grandpa Roger is the BEST.

Doesn't matter what it is.......as long as it has a motor, two little boys want a ride !!

I think my dad is jealous of my BEAUTIFUL DIRT !
It doesn't get any better than BARNYARD dirt - especially a barnyard that has been around for 50-6- years. I can hardly wait to get my hands dirty :)
