Sunday Funday

This was a week ago Sunday (Oct 22nd)
We gathered at Zac and CJ's.
I made 4 big homemade pizzas, and we all sat around, hung out, and as you can see, WRESTLED.........  Landon keeps the party lively, that's for sure.
Towards the end of the evening, we made Halloween Monster treats.
Rice Krispie treats on sticks, dipped in colored white chocolate, then dipped in "hair", and eyeballs added last of all.
The kids had a great time, and the DADS were great helpers.
Fun times at the Rich Ranch !

A Year Ago Today

A year ago today - the day little Tenzin's Spirit left this earth.
He lives in Heaven now, with Heavenly Father.
Oh how we have missed him this past year.

I know he lives.
We will see him and have him and hold again one day.

When? Thatcher asks me, When?
I answer - When Jesus comes again.
And HE will.

Some of us just wish that day would come sooner than others.

This was taken from a talk that Calvin Stephens gave at our Ambure's funeral.
I have changed the words a little bit, for our little Tenzin.

Melvin J. Ballard was a man who would sit in the quorum of the twelve apostles, a man of great faith who had been promised by a great patriarch that he would cross the veil and he would see heavenly people.  Melvin J. Ballard had a six year old boy whom he loved with all of his heart, that had a great deal of trouble with the little boy, he’d been ill so very often. Brother Ballard testifies how he had walked the floor with him, and how he had had prayed for him and loved him, and finally the little boy seemed to get well. Right soon after he turned six and they had a birthday party for him, he died, and Brother Ballard lost his son.  Melvin J. Ballard testified that through faith and prayer, that one day our Heavenly Father removed the veil and he saw his son in the world of spirits.  And he said, “I did not see a six year old boy, I saw an adult man, for he was an adult before he came.  I saw that he was happy, that he mingled with the sons and daughters of God.  I also saw that in due time every blessing that I had, would come to him, that he would have the opportunity to select a companion from among the daughters of God, and be sealed in the temple, and then he testified to all mothers and fathers in Israel,  “Do not mourn for them, they are all right, God loves them and is taking care of them.”

I also testify to you this day, that the body of your child, it’s flesh, does not grow in the grave, it cannot be so, it is contrary to the laws of God, and even though he is now an adult in the world of spirits, receiving assignments from the priesthood, and being trained and schooled for that great day when he will pick up that body, his flesh cannot grow in the grave. And when he returns he will pick up the same body he laid down As Joseph Smith told a mother in Israel on day, who wept so very bitterly at the loss of her child, “Do not cry anymore, as God lives, I promise you that you will raise that child to manhood in the millennium", and so it shall be with you,  upon the condition of your obedience. You will have the opportunity to raise that child to perfection and to beauty in the millennium in a day and age in which there is no sin.  It’s only a matter of time, and if you’ll be patient that great day shall come to you.  His death in part has sealed his destiny, for Joseph Smith taught, and so did David O. McKay in our own day in age, “That all little children who die before the age of eight are saved in the celestial kingdom of God.” (pause) That is one of the most powerful statements that I believe I ever read. James E. Talmadge who was a member of the twelve, and who died in 1933, said this, “No pain that is suffered by man or women upon the earth will be without its compensating effect, if it be met with patience".

Deer Hunt 2017 - First Day

It was a beautiful day - Cold, but nice when in the sun.
We stayed warm in the Ranger, and also were bundled up pretty good.
Thatcher was all smiles - all day.
He kept taking his coat on and off.
Hot one minute, cold the next.
Tagg was SUPER excited, and wanted to get a deer SO BAD.
He brought his knives to GUT it.
Treyson was mellow as usual.
He was probably ready to head home before any of us.
I'm surprised he didn't bring his book ;)
I was able to get a great picture, with TWIN PEAKS in the background.
There was snow on the ground in some places
These are sure goofy kids.
They were all snoozing by the end.

Another Pour

Another Day - Another Pour
Friday morning - Zac took the day off work.  This cement has to be finished so they can get asphalt next week.  All formed up, ready to go.  2.5 yards needed.
Who's that flashy red woman helping?
Grandma D !!!
Don't know what we'd do without the crew to help.
This slab is right outside the garage door, and will also be where the air conditioning unit goes.
2nd pour a yard finishes it off, and takes us down the mow strip
Tagg was a GREAT help !
We were sure happy and relieved to have Steve come help finish it.  The wind was blowing so hard, and it was drying so fast.  He is an expert, and it would have been a disaster without him.  Seriously.
The sun kept shining........and the wind died down a little bit.
Dark clouds were moving in NORTH of us
and South - looked like a downpour up Hardscrabble.
But blue skies still shown above us.......
Fingers crossed - rain rain stay away !!!
All done !  Yahoo.
The rain did eventually start, but we were prepared.
Good job to have done !!

Special remembrances for Tenzin
It ended up being a happy celebrating day, and took some sting out of the 1 year anniversary of Tenzin's birth.  Definately a  BRIGHT SPOT, in what otherwise could have been a sad day.
Crowds and loads and crowds of fun
Brightyn was in 7th heaven with all of the doggies.
Here comes Denali !!
Bandit didn't seem to mind being "fought" over by these two 3 year olds.
Even old Grandpa LUCKY got in on the action.
We tried to get them all to SIT for a photo........man THAT was a job and a half.
This was one of the best ones.
Here we have Lola (in the pink collar on the left), Gunny (big black with the bandana), Denali (just out of sight behind Gunny), Tagg holding Bandit, CJ holding the birthday boy Talon, and Rex, Jersey (big beautiful Golden Retreiver) sitting nicely, and Tank (Rex's brother, with the pink hat on).  Look in the far back corner, and you can see Grandpa Lucky resting in the shade.
The enticements !
PUPPY CAKE !!
Look at those 3 best behaved dogs on the right.  They are Tanja and Jarrett's.  Denali, Sophie, and Gunny.
More loves............
and cheeses for the camera
Hey !  I'm even in a picture (Thanks to Tanja)
They know what's coming :)
Such a fun day !
Sophie, Denali, and Gunny
Jersey (Lindsey's dog) - She was there with all of her 7 girls.
Blakeley and friend stayed in CJ's bedroom and watched the new baby the whole time.  My, she is sweet and tiny.
Tagg and Kaydence with Jersey
Can't believe Tanja got a picture of this little guy resting (not jumping around), and alone (not being bothered by dogs or kids)
Talon examining one of his new presents.
It was a crazy fun loud joyful time
Thatcher and Gunny

I can't believe I didn't get a picture of PAYSON !?!?   He WAS there too !

Here is all who came to celebrate the special day.

CJ and boys (Zac was a work..........thankfully.......... haha)

Grandma Gwen brought Lucky and Bandit
Blakely and Friend
Lindsey and 7 girls and dog Jersey

I think that is all.
