September - What's up with me and Roger

For Labor Day we had a quick impromptu cook out.
We've only had 3-4 cookouts at the Property this year :(
This is when Traci cut Roger's hair for the wedding.
I wish he would get it done monthly, but he refuses.

Mom's sunflowers grew well this year also.
Sunflowers are such happy flowers.
Good onion crop this year.  Drying them out in the shop.
My favorite pan (from my Grandma Dickson) broke again.
I got this in 1995 after Grandma died, and the original handle lasted until 2008, then I had Craig Nelson replace it for me.  It's lasted till now, and I've taken it back to Craig.  Hopefully I'll get it back soon.
Relaxing on Mom's porch
Doing the corn.   Such a slick way to do corn !
Here's how it is done - see video
Football game - like my hat ?
Roger doesn't haha
So glad the garden is mostly 99% done.
Relief Society activity at Lynette Durrant's.
We made flower arrangements.
I made one for Angie and Jessie for their birthdays.
Can you spot me in the back?
Emily Pulver, Vinda Preslar, Me, Sara Rice, Lisa Streadbeck, Riley Streadbeck, Annette Streadbeck, Amy Fairchild, and Lynette Durrant (Denise Hansen is taking the picture)
Tiana (my niece) has been traveling ALL over Europe.  She sends me post cards, and I LOVE THEM !!
We did tomato juice and salsa this year.  Always glad to get that done.
Still mowing hard.  I like the exercise I get, but will be glad when it's over.
LuAnn went to Branson MO with friends.
Our old 2004 Saturn bit the dust  - we gave it to Kars for Kids.

Miscellaneous happenings in August

The squash bugs killed our pumpkin and squash crop.
We lost 99% of our crop.  So disappointing.
Rog is working so hard - he is really tired at the end of the day.
It's hard with the boys back at school and football, and the bulk of the mowing falls to him.
I'm so happy we live in such a beautiful valley as Morgan.  We are BLESSED.

I got Paris and Azula all shaved up............and then we lost baby CHA CHA (not Chi Chi).  Paris had Cha Cha, and she was poorly from the start.  Lived about a month, then died :(  We gave Cha Cha to Annette Prescott, and then decided we were going out of the goat business.  Paris and Azula headed on down the road to a good home courtesy of Steve Bell.
We planted Giant sunflowers from last year's Giant Sunflower seeds.  They have grown so tall, and we love them !!
The garden crop is on.  Corn, Cucumbers, Tomatoes - YUM
I made a beautiful Apple pie.  It was delicious.  Made from apples from Mom's tree.
I'm cutting back on office work at the Assessor's office, in preparation for my retirement in October.  I've been out helping Roger (The Yard Master) - I guess you could call me  The Yard Mistress (haha).
Canning is always fun.
Roger is such a good help to me.
We did salsa, tomato juice, and sauer kraut
Aaron Venz showed us how to dry out onions !
Landon and Kacey went with Yvonne and Steve (their neighbors) to an island resort in the Caribbean.  They had a great time.
Landon and Kacey's family had Lagoon season passes again
Fun times on Rattle Snake Rapids
Not sure which MLB park, or who that player was..........
But Landon was there for work I think.
Splitting some rotten wood - NO FUN
Glad the boys could help.
Starting another project.  I think it's called, "Clean out the shed and kill the wasps and mice!"
Tagg and Thatcher still go to The Weight Room
This is Tagg's group
Zac and CJ got a Jeep Rubicon.  They plan to go on some "Jeeping" adventures.
Kelly Wilson and Haslam are going to be the new wrestling coaches this year.  Roger is talking with them after a football game.
Treyson is a Senior, and is playing on the Defensive line
Tagg is a Sophomore, and plays the same position
Thatcher has many friends who also have older brothers who play for MHS.
They have a great time at the games watching.
Thatcher is playing too in WFFL

Tomato Time

Well, the weekend after our Arizona gang left, we were busy again!  I picked up 5 bushels of tomatoes from Guy Rose in South Weber.
We went to town, and made tomato juice (55 quarts), Salsa (42 pints), and Pizza Sauce (21 pints), plus had a few left over to eat.

I should also say, that I didn't have to buy any onions or peppers - we grew them all in the garden, so that's a big PLUS !!
Salsa bubbling away - we made two batches
Such a lovely sight to see :)
Now corn is on, and we've been eating it every night for supper.  In the next week or so, it will come on HARD, and we'll have processing/freezing to do.

Remember this video from last year?

Gotta love PEACH season.  Mom makes the BEST pies !!
Football is going on strong.  We have FOUR boys playing.  Treyson - Morgan JV team, Tagg (above) WFFL, Thatcher (WFFL), and Payson for West Haven Grizzlies (WFFL).  It sure keeps us hopping !!
Cam got another baby in the family.  Her cousin Josh's 2nd baby.
More football !!
Cute girlies (at a football game)
Canning is almost done.  Another batch of Tomato Juice oughta do it.
And more BIG BOY football !!
