RIP - Lucky

We said good-bye yesterday to our sweet old dog Lucky.  He was 15 years old.  We got him 5 years ago, when his owner in Henefer went into a care facility.  He was a good dog, and it was always good to have him meet us when we came home.  I often wondered just what he thought of us, as we came and went.   I always asked him, "Whatcha think Lucky?"  He had wise eyes.  He loved belly rubs, especially from Brightyn.  Cam was always so happy to see him when she came to visit.  My dad loved him, and always gave him a smile and a pat.  I was worried, going into this winter.  I knew the cold would be hard on his old bones, and I hated to see him suffer.  Yesterday morning he didn't want to get up, not even for his favorite jerky treat.  It was time to say good-bye.  I have faith that we will see him again one day.

After the ride

:Lucky is such a good old dog.   He loves to have his belly scratched and rubbed by the kids.
The kids love the swing.  They like to have me recite the "Mean Old Clown who lives in the Ground" rhyme that I made up.  The fact that the ground drops off in back, makes it exciting, as they soar over the empty drop off.
Two Paysons.............. 6 years apart.  My poster of all the kids was moved from my wall in the house to the wall in the garage after our remodel.  It's fun to see the change.
Two Brights........   Same thing - 6 years apart.   I hope to keep this poster forever.
Bex, who has quit taking naps, was totally worn out by the Ranger Ride.
But she soon woke up, and then she and Kacey tried out the swing also.
Love the smiles
Roger and I  got the trampoline put up for the year the other day, and it doesn't take long for the kids to start having fun !
It was great to hang out for a time after the Ranger Ride.............then the parents left, and we had the two older yahoos sleepover !  But THAT's another post :)

Our life lately

Lucky got his SUMMER haircut.
Bandit doesn't quite know what to think.
Lucky is 13 years old this summer.  I feed him an aspirin in the morning and in the evening to help with his hip pain. They are good dogs, even though Bandit annoys me most of the time.
Last Saturday we were able to get some more weed spraying done.
The new sprayer we had purchased the previous summer was leaking (already !?!?!) so Zac went to work and rebuilt the components, and it will NEVER leak again!
We were finally able to get down to see the kids, and check out the awesome playhouse Landon and Kacey built.  10 hours over 3 days (Memorial Day Weekend), saved themselves $600 in costs. They did a great job, and it's so sturdy !   I climbed upon in the one end, and let me tell you, that thing is solid.  They littles LOVE it.
Landon and Roger, checking out the new sod, Yard looks great !!
We soon heard Miss Bexlee on the monitor, and in the house we went.  Here she is all trussed up like a burrito - her FAVORITE way to sleep :)

Brightyn said (after the group pic), now Grandma, take just MY picture, and when I raised my camera, she does her POSE.  Such a cute sweet loving girl !!
The other day I was heading west on Young Street, near the East Canyon bridge, when a Mama and Daddy Goose, brought their 10 babies up on the road.  I stopped clear back aways, and zoomed my camera in.  I thought they would cross the road, but they changed their minds, and turned around and headed back in to the creek.

While they were packing and loading up in West Haven on Thursday evening, Erika and I went to the Eccles Theater in SLC to see The Sound Of Music.  It was awesome.  Thanks to Matt (my co-worker)  for the tickets !!
Here's a picture of the soon to be newest project down by the creek.
The Welch Ditch Diversion Dam is in dire need of renovation.  Zac will work with the ditch company, and get cement poured, and a new headgate installed.

Thatcher took part in Dr. Suess's birthday celebration at school on Friday.

Roger's New Puppy

Meet Bandit
aka Bandit Wrangler Rich
aka BW Rich

Poor Grandpa Lucky is having to put up with ALOT
Thatcher and Tagg came over to check him out yesterday.  They sure think he's a cutie.
Bandit has one blue eye, and one black eye.
He's doing alright so far.
We lock him in the big dog kennel during the day when we aren't around, and we lock Lucky in there with him at nights, and they sleep together in the dog house.
