Happy Birthday Treyson

A cute little boy, energetic, loving, says "Thank You" so sweet, every time, loves to work with his daddy, minds his mommy (haha), loves his brother, and plays with Grandpa and Grandma. We sure love you Treyson Lee Rich !! OH - one thing I forgot to mention...... A few months ago, we were weighing Cam and Treyson, and Cam was 31 pounds at 4 years of age...... Now Treyson is 3 years old, and I was weighing him the other day and he is 37 POUNDS !! He's going to be BIG BOY !!

Treyson is going to have so much fun in his new house, with his sand pile, and playhouse, and big fenced in yard, and apple trees to climb, and stepping stones to jump on, and tons of grass to run around on.

He is getting really good on his bike, and always wears a helmet. Different from back in the day.... I liked this picture, with the sun in the background.

His "Diego" themed birthday party at the property was fun. His cousin Blakley gave him this little motorized construction toy which he really liked, and his other cousin Camryn called from Arizona, and sang him and his dad a cute song of Happy Birthday.

We had to take off his shirt so he could enjoy the frosting without making a mess.

Happy Birthday Zachary

Today our oldest son is celebrating his 27th birthday. As usual, he worked most of the day.......his favorite thing to do. He did break this afternoon, to celebrate his and Treyson's 3rd birthday (which is tomorrow). His favorite gift was probably a surprise "blow dart gun" that CJ got him. Zac is a hard worker, filled with determination, and always with a new "project". I wish he could learn to slow down and smell the roses..... hopefully that will come with age :) We love you Zac.

Treyson and Zac with their matching "Diego" tattoos

Grandpa Rich is asking Zac about the fact that his new "blow dart gun" may be illegal :)

Somebody is laying down the law :) It's either, BE CAREFUL with that thing.........or don't shoot that thing at me..............or.........

We can see the end.......

Here are the grandmas - Hard at work :)

It's still cold.... but everyone is having fun.

It's warmed up a little bit, and the Sargent kids have found the treasures in the Garden.

So that's how you put up a vinyl fence !?!?

Finished product.....at least for one side. Sure looks good.

I am thankful for today......... Wanna hear about it?? It was totally unusual for me.

1. I didn't work today (Thanks Jenni & Lynne for holding down the fort)
2. Left the house at 7:15
3. Yearly GYNO appointment with a new doctor, because of insurance changes (Thanks council!). Dr. Johanssen is located in the Circle of Life Women's Center. Been there? One word - WOW. Not your usual doctor's office, that's for sure. The front waiting room, seemed more like a ski lodge to me, and they give you PAGERS!?!?!
4. 9am. Head to the Ogden Temple, where I sat in the parking lot and called to get a mammogram appointment.....What? You can get me in at 11 am?? Yahoo! I didn't have time to do an endowment session, so I opted for sealings. It was a great peaceful way to spend about 1 1/2 hours.
5. 11am. Mammogram........ Not too bad, considering.
6. Newgate Mall, to pick up a new cell phone holder for Roger. He broke his (for the 2nd time) yesterday........they are all out, "Come back a 3pm".
7. Call Bonnie Peterson........ "Want to ride to SLC to pick up Landon's package from Peru?"
8. Drive to Kaysville, and sweet Bonnie offers to drive..... thankfully we are saved from Landon's little "beater" :)
9. Drive on the new LEGACY HIGHWAY !!! I was yapping so much, I didn't really observe... apparently I can't talk and look at the same time.
10. 12:30 Arrive at El Inka Market, and get THE PACKAGE !! Woo Hoo !! We open it in the car, and go through everything while driving back to Bountiful. Such treasures !! Seriously....... It was mostly special important papers that Landon wants to keep FOREVER. They still felt damp from the humidity of Lima.
11. Stopped in Bountiful and ate at Paradise Bakery - YUMMY !! I'd never been there before, but it was so good. I will have to remember this place. I saw Brady Jaques there. He is Pam Jaques Allen's son, who went to school with Manda. We chatted for a minute, and he told me his older brother, Cary (who worked for me in the Assessor's office one summer years ago) went to the Peru Lima North Mission also !! Small world. I'll have to call Pam tomorrow. I want to get his email address.
12. Drive back to Kaysville, drop Bonnie off, and head back into Ogden to finish up my shopping list.
13. JoAnn's......... Bought craft stuff to do with Camryn in November when we go down.
14. Sam's.........Plastic cups, napkins, forks, WATER
15. Walmart......... More fabric for my "I Spy" quilt I'm trying to get done (2 of them) for Christmas, Treyson birthday stuff, ice cube trays........ Why ice cube trays you might ask? I mean.... I do have an automatic ice maker in my freezer/fridge, right? WRONG !!!! Didn't I tell you, the RICH LUCK strikes again, and our Freezer BURNED UP (almost literally) in the last power outage last Saturday. I know, I know......... you are thinking it's like my VHS/DVD player huh?.....and not really broken........ Who knows. Birthday cards for Treyson and Zac (We are celebrating their birthdays this weekend)
16. Big 5 (Purchased a big exercise ball)
17. Back to Newgate Mall .........still no cell phone holder :( Rog will have to try again tomorrow.
18. Seagull Book. Man, I could go crazy in that place. Spent too much money.... oh well.... 3 books, 2 gifts, and 10 handouts for my Sunday School class .
19. 6:30 Head for home
20. Stopped at mom's/Zac's.... they are still working on the fence. (Are we surprised?) Zac is taking tomorrow off, and will hopefully get it all ready to do the final pour of the mow strip on Saturday. I suppose we will start putting up the vinyl rails (or what ever they are called) on Saturday afternoon also.
20 1/2. Camryn called and sang Happy Birthday to Treyson - it was just about the cutest thing you have ever heard. I'm going to try and get it recorded, and post a sound file. Too cute !!
21. Came home, bathed Treyson, did dishes, barbecued hamburgers.
22. Sat down at my computer :) Caught up on my blogs..... Talked to Annette.... I'm ready for bed. It was a good day - I was THANKFUL FOR IT !!

A Day at Kid's Fair

This must be the pirate's parrot...........but where's the pirate??

ARgh!!!!! Me Matey..........Check out the "hook" (finger)

Manda said the this mermaid, was the only "character" that Cam would approach by herself. All of the others (and there were MANY), she had to have Manda go with her :)

Our own Hannah Montana........... she looks like she's concentrating pretty hard, huh?

Busy Saturday

Started out pouring cement again - we are about 1/3 done with the entire project.
Today we worked on the North border, by Marsha Ann's house. Kelly and Brayden came to help, and also the roofers next door. The rain held off, thank goodness.

Tagg is such a sport - he hangs out all day, and is a good as gold.

Treyson - the scarecrow ! CJ is going to cut these down for Halloween decorations.

Grandma Gwen with her boys -
wish Cam was here too :(

Later in the afternoon, Zac started digging holes by hand. These are for the posts on the south side of the property. We just laid on the lawn and watched.

The brick on Grandma and Grandpa D's house looks so nice. We made a quick trip up here to get a saws-all blade, so Zac could cut a root out of one of the holes.

Daddy and his boys, going for a swing. After a long day, we relaxed outside........because the power was off inside (since 3:30 pm)

Peek -a- boo

The day ended, with the power being out until 9:30 pm.
Here is Tagg, getting his bum changed by flashlight.

Riding my Bike is fun to do....fun to do....fun to do......

Sunday evening, we went over to the walking path and let Treyson ride his bike. He was quite amazed, and loved it all. He kept turning around, and saying.....Keep going? Keep going? He just couldn't believe that he could KEEP GOING !?!?!?

Unfortunately, a couple of times, his turning around to talk.....while still biking forward, got him into a wreck. What a funny kid. For all of the pics, click here.

38 years ago today..............

.......my little sister Tonya was born. She was the baby in our family, with an older brother and two older sisters. I was 9 1/2 when she was born. It's funny how memories fade over the years..... I used to like to take her out of sacrament meeting when she got restless, and we would walk home. I don't ever remember her being a pest - that was reserved for my brother Mark :) She was 7 years old when I was married, and she thought Roger was pretty neat. She was a good babysitter for Manda and Zac when she got older. She was very athletic, and was a good gymnast and volleyball player.

Tonya was killed in a car accident, one week after she graduated from high school. She was 17. I was 8 months pregnant with Landon.

I think of her, and wonder how she would have lived her life. Would she be married now?.............kids?........live in Morgan? I look forward to the day when I will see her again. I love her. Families are FOREVER.

This is a very special picture to me. It was taken at the Provo MTC, on the day my brother left on his mission. This is the last picture we have of Mark and Tonya together.

Wonderful Weekend

Saturday we poured cement at Zac's/Dad's. Kerry and Kelly and Jace and Cade came and helped, and THAT WAS SO GOOD !! Roger and Dad (Lee) didn't have to kill themselves off, which is always a good thing :) Mom and Luann watched Tagg, Ben supervised :), CJ kept track of all of the kids (Jace brought his), Roger ran the mixer (loaded the wheelbarrows), Dad helped to finish, I wiped the cement from the poles, and hammered the boards, and tamped the holes, and the men did all of the wheel-barreling, dumping, smoothing, etc. etc. etc. We poured about 3 1/2 yards of cement, between 8:30 and 11:30.....and it went so smooth, and it looks SO GOOD !! We sure appreciated all of the help, and had lunch afterwards, and then went up to Mom and Dad's new home to see the brick progress. It was a beautiful fall day - perfect temperature.........hope it stays this way until Thanksgiving :)

Treyson and Grandpa Roger are ready to go !!

Hard Workers

Roger took it easy on his knee - thank goodness !!

Doesn't it look GREAT ??

Treyson is SUCH a big help :)

Zak, Treyson & Gabe - they had a great day

Lunch was good

New Brick job looks great

Relaxing after a hard days work

Such a happy happy baby :)

Building Fences........

Zac and CJ worked all day today putting in posts. I asked them if it brought them "closer".............even though I heard a little yelling :) It is a good job done. 60+ posts cemented in the ground, level and straight. All across the back of the garden, and down the north property line. Rain threatened most of the day, but didn't let loose until about 5:30pm, when they only had about 15 posts to go. It didn't last long, and didn't ruin anything, thank goodness. Thanks to everyone who helped with the kids, etc. You know who you are. They couldn't have done it without you. Have fun looking at the pictures below.

Tearing Down Fences

As you all know, Zac and CJ are buying mom and dad's house. There
iswas a wooden "grape stake" fence surrounding the back and sides. This was put in approximately 35-40 years ago, over the course of a summer.......or two. Anyone who knows my dad, knows that he builds things to last, and last it did.........until these past couple of weeks. The kids have decided they would like a vinyl fence, and so they have torn out all of the wooden fencing and cement, and are in the process of getting the vinyl fence installed.....by themselves.........with a little help from family and friends. We'll keep you updated on the progress. One thing about it - there is never a dull moment at the Rich's.

Run Gwen Run.......

I participated in the Wasatch Woman/Love Your Body 5K run on Saturday. My good friend, Teresa Lake and I were going to do this together. Unfortunately she had a small mishap :(........ so my OTHER good friend, Annette P. filled in for her. Thanks Annette !!

Due to
old agemy hip hurting, I was unable to jog as planned, but none the less, we walked VERY FAST, huh Annette ?

You can check out the pics, here.

And the results, here. Don't ask me why they are listing me as 51 YEARS OLD ?!?!?!?!?

BTW - Annette is listed as "Teresa Lake" - age 52, which is ALSO incorrect, for both Annette AND Teresa......and how the heck did you beat me by what? A millisecond !?!?

It was a great time, and I would do it again. Our goal is to RUN in Gerald K. Andersen Memorial next year, and post a time in the 30's. Think we can do it??

Two Sweet Boys

Guess who is sitting?? - Tagarino !!
