A little get away

My good friend Sherilee invited me for a 2 night, 3 day getaway.
First off we did an endowment session at the new Orem Temple.

Then we headed to her family cabin near Sundance.
We spent two days working on our computers, including updating 2 months worth of my blogs, and getting a few picture books caught up, and Sherilee was able to almost complete a kid's picture book created from a family ancestor story, using AI to generate the pictures.  It was amazing, and it has really got me excited to complete my kid's book, "Will Dickson and the Third Nephite" that I've been putting off for 10+ years, due to the overwhelming thought of getting the "pictures" right.
We also took a hike along the roads near the cabin, and saw a bunch of turkeys.  We explored a broken down cabin that was falling into the creek, and surveyed the progress on a cabin that was being built.  Last year, a smaller cabin was being demolished, and now a newer, bigger cabin is being built in it's place.  They have the excavation done, and the cement foundation.  We also walked down the road and looked at another cabin that was getting an addition, and some VRBO cabins.  It is such a nice cozy area, just above Sundance resort.  We had a wonderful time.

After our get a way, Sherilee dropped me off at Zions Bank Stadium in Herriman so I could catch Tagg's football game.  Semi-finals against Manti.

Our Life Lately

Mom and I have been going to the temple every other Tuesday morning
Got to visit with my friend Stacy at her new job.
We are in the process of eliminating those DANG VOLES in our lawn.
Old Man and Wrinkly old Woman
Honey do,,,,,,,ssssss
Re-did some chairs (Paint and new fabric)
Watching a storm roll in, and roll on by.......very little rain.
We haven't gotten much rain this summer - it's a bummer.
Plenty of wind though, puts down branches that get caught in the Welch Ditch Dam, which Roger cleans out multiple times a week.
Even blew so hard one night we were without power for about 4 hours (6 to 10 pm)
Can you guess which kid gave us this candle? haha
Early morning watering of garden has been so nice and cool.
Peas are gone.  I'm so proud that we have been able to keep the weeds down, especially in the bottom of the garden where we didn't plant anything.
Got the electric fence up to keep the raccoons out of the corn.
Cleaned out Mom's light fixture which were riddled with wasp nests.
Removed her cement edging and sold it, and when the flowers die, we are going to put down bark, and get the three barrels from the Property, and redo her flower bed.

Also, took out the flowers and bushes under the bedroom window, so the sprinklers would get the dry spot on the lawn hopefully.
Our one lone sunflower that came up from seed (volunteer) - it's ahead of the others I planted for sure.  I think it's about 10-12 feet tall.

Another project at Zac and CJ's.  I can't tell you how many revisions this room has had over the course of the years.  I could do an entire blog post just on this one room !
Cupboards taken down, wall removed, dog wash station removed.
Going to remove the wall behind the washer and dryer, so that they can be pushed back against the outside wall.  Also, another wall will be built against the side of the desk (see in bottom right photo) and another dog wash installed on the outside wall.
Football practice in full swing for both Tagg and Thatcher. Hope for a great year with lots of playing time.  Fingers crossed.

Retreat !

Tuesday, November 7th I met with Sherilee Olson, and we went on a little retreat.  Her family has a cabin up above Sundance Ski Resort.  We went up over Heber City way, and stopped there first to turn on the gas heat.
Then we went on down Provo Canyon to the Prover City Center Temple for a session.

Afterwards we at lunch ate Cafe Rio, bought a few groceries, and a "MOUSE" for my laptop, then headed back to the cabin.    This picture above is the next day when we went on a short hike.  It had snowed the day and night before.
Mostly we just holed up in the cabin, eating well, and working on our digital scrapbooks, and watching a few movies.  It was such an enjoyable time.  We came home on :Thursday the 10th.
Here is a little bit about the cabin.   It was in such a beautiful setting, with towering pine trees surrounding us, the ground carpeted with pine needles, sunlight filtering down through the trees.  Not a million dollar cabin, and not a log cabin with a dirt floor.  A "Just Right" cabin.    Thank you Sherilee !!  for inviting me.  I had such a great time.

Our life lately

Look at the cute adorable cheesy sweetheart of the front left !!
Bexlee is loving Preschool with Miss Sophie :)
Landon had an operation on his nose to fix a deviated septum.  He finally got the stent out yesterday, and is feeling great and breathing SO MUCH BETTER !  Yeah !
Easton Croxford and Thatcher after their game last week.  They are good friends :)
Treyson getting ready for the Homecoming Dance.  Had to have Uncle Aaron help him tie his tie !
Thatcher helped me pick up the light along side of the road down to the Property.  I drove slow, and he leaned out and picked them up on the go !
Treyson with his date.  they had a great time.
Thanks to Bishop Fawson, Rhonda Carter, the Toone Family, and the 5th ward Priests and Teachers, we got 200 bales of grass hay hauled and put in the barn in no time !!  We are truly blessed.  Roger was sure worried, because he's 63, Zac was recovering from Covid, and Landon was recovering from nose surgery, and we didn't know what we were going to do.
Joseph Belinski, Tagg, Treyson, and the Toone brothers
The creek is almost empty.  I guess they are holding back water in East Canyon Dam for next year.  I've never seen it this low at this point of the year.
We facetimed with Bright, and she has lost another tooth !!
My sweet friend Angi brought me a fall surprise :)
And Grandma is loving Crossfit !! We are all so proud of her.    I'm hoping I can keep up with her as we leave for Seattle today for a girls trip.  Just me, Grandma Ben, Amanda, and Camryn.
