A Dog again, after about 10 years.........

We have a new member of our family.
Lucky
He is a 10 year old border collie, who belonged to an older gentlemen in Henefer who couldn't take care of him anymore.  He is sweet, and mellow, and minds, and is great with the kids and animals.........
We love him already !

He was really furry and somewhat matted, and pretty dirty, so CJ took him to the groomer............

.........and came home with a DIFFERENT DOG !?!?!?
Not really.

Boy, he sure looks different !

The kids sure like him !
He is smart, and love to fetch a stick.
We are happy to have him.

Double Birthday !

Happy Birthday to Zac and Treyson !!
Zac is 34 and Treyson is 10
If Treyson would have cooperated a little better, they would have shared the same day - but as it was...........after 27+ hours of labor and then FINALLY a C-section, he was born one day later.

We had a great celebration at the Property,
the weather was so warm and wonderful.
Brightyn is such a cheeser :)
Hi Thatcher!
Hi Wilkersons !!
That boy dug right into his presents I tell you.
The Brain teaser game was fun !
Everyone looked at the book, "The Year I Was Nine" that we gave him.  It was 158 pages long !!  Wow, it was a fun filled past year, that's for sure.

Can you believe I caught both of them smiling?

Up Up UP!!!!!!!!!

Payson made me a birthday cake of my own from sand and rocks.  He was so proud, and I was SO appreciative, cause that's how this Grandma rolls.........
How cute is this?
The next night, Grandma D made her famous pumpkin (squash) pie, and Treyson (and the rest of us) DEVOURED it !!

Last week happenings

This is the road that will go to Zac and CJ's lot. It goes across the yard of the house that Mark used to live in.  You can see Roger D. on the tractor in the background.
Zac is in Dad's Kubota, spreading and smoothing and tilling the dirt.  He has got it looking so so good !
Every other night we go over to get the empty corn stalks to feed to the animals.  The boys love to help with this chore.
Roger said that the stalks are getting too dry now, so we will probably just chop the rest.
Roger D. fixed macaroni and tomato juice the other night.  Everyone just loves it.
Tagg is quite the artist !
The other morning before I got them on the bus (Friday morning), we practiced cursive.  It was fun to be with them.
Thatcher is now wearing an eye patch for 3 hours a day.  He has a very lazy eye, which needs to be corrected.
Tagg and his whole family went to the dentist on Friday afternoon.
Saturday morning I watched the kids while Landon was golfing and Kacey went to Crossfit.  Brightyn wanted left over pizza from the night before.  Silly girl :)

All of the boys wanted scrambled eggs, and they ate them right up !

Treyson needs to eat good - because he's got a football game in a little bit !

A Day in the Field

Wednesday, Matt and I went with John Wilkinson and Gerald Osborne for a Ranger ride to observe the grazing, and topography, and foliage in Hardscrabble Canyon.   It was a great morning.  A little dusty, and a little cool at first, but a fun outing none the less.  At one point we went through the creek, and it came in up around the doors, and in on the floorboards, and back out !  We saw alot of beautiful fall colors, and healthy cows and calves.   The Ranger ride was incredibly smooth, and John was an excellent driver over some scary, narrow, steep trails.   I was a little nervous, but not too much.
We went further than I have ever gone in the canyon.  We went almost to the top, of Shingle Mill.  See where Matt is looking?  Just over that ridge is Bountiful !  What a beautiful world we live in.

Harvest Time

The garden is almost put to bed.  Boy what a big job this is for Mom and Dad.  Gathering all of the squash and pumpkins.  Mom and Dad had already gathered them into about 6 piles throughout the garden, and covered them with the vines.   Today I helped them move them into two big piles, and gather up all of the vines, so that the hoses could be rolled up and put away.  We worked for 2 hours in the hot sun.  It was a big job.  I'm glad I could be off work to help them.   The power had gone out at work, and they closed the courthouse.  There were hubbard, and blue hubbard, and acorn, and buttercup, and banana squash, and then of course, the PUMPKINS !
Looking pretty barren at this point in September.
Aunt Maisie and Uncle Norris and Aunt Pam and Lori came over to get some squash.  Treyson and Tagg were there to help load them up, and to also pick THEIR pumpkins.
Later we went down to the Property while Zac and Roger moved some dirt for Mom.  The next thing I know, she's out on the Welch Ditch Dam, working to clear debris.
Dang it all -  She worries me.  78 years old, and she doesn't know when to quit.  I hope I can be just like her !
Selfie time with the LITTLES
Brightyn picked her pumpkin
So did this SWEET boy !
We gathered cornstalks and took them home to the goats.  Fall is my FAVORITE time of year :)

Friday and Saturday

We watched Payson and Brightyn for a few hours on Friday while Landon and Kacey sent to a sealing at the temple.  We had a fun morning, building blocks and knocking them down.  Payson was "HULK", and Brightyn was "Princess".  We built a fort, and had fun around the house, then we went to visit Grandpa and Grandma Ben.
Afterwards we came home for lunch.  I fixed a peanut butter and jam sandwich, but Payson didn't want any of that, so he decided eggs would be better.  He's a good little cooker :)
Later we went outside and watched Grandpa Roger mow the lawn.  We hung out under the trampoline for a little bit..................
Brightyn had a fun time too, even though this picture doesn't show it.
He's going to be a Crossfitter !
Brightyn too !!
Catchin' some AIR !!
Saturday, Roger and I went with Mom and Dad to Young Kia in Kaysville.  They ended up getting a Kia Sportage.  It's a cute crossover vehicle.  White (just like mom wanted).  I think they will enjoy it very much.

What's up lately

Zac and CJ and boys have headed to Montana for CJ's Uncle Norris' funeral.  On the way they stopped at Yellowstone.  It was pretty cold, but they are having a great time.
Landon and Kacey bought a Ford Explorer, and are enjoying it - even the washing !
With all of the rain we've had the past couple of days, the little worms have come out all over the driveway.  They boys  like to pick them up and feed them to the chickens.
Tuesday night we met Roger's family down in Ogden for dinner.  Kelly was in town.  It was great to see him.
