Odds and Ends

Protecting my poor spindly trees from the deer.  Hope it works !
Grandson Treyson is quite the guitar player.  Check him out on instagram.  He practices daily, and has really gotten very good.
Manda and Bren's remodel is coming along.  Cabinets go in next week.
The water dropped enough that they were able to get the pumps out of the ground, pipes re-routed, and the ground ready to go for the shed.
Cam and Josiah
Lawnmowing is almost done, and sprinkler winterization has started up.
We helped to cut back the grapes, which didn't produce too well this year.
Remember this?  I never was able to make this work for me.  Not even with the quote :(
I've done more canning this year than I ever have before.  These bottles of stewed tomatoes is the last of it (bottling).  I puree them for spaghetti sauce, and use the spaghetti sauce I bottled for Pizza sauce !! Go figure :)
Thatch's team went undefeated, and they were featured in the Morgan County News, which is back in business.
Almost voting time.  So grateful that I will have a job for another 4 years, without the worry of being defeated in the election.
As I said..........I just couldn't make it work, and in less that 3 hours on Morgan Classified, had it sold and gone.  The extra room in the garage is nice.
These crazy kids love the trampoline.  It's about time to take ours down, probably tomorrow.

Big Time Trim and Clean-up

After the big windstorm did so much damage, we knew we really needed to get down some of the more scary limbs that were either dead, dead and hanging, live and hanging, in danger of coming down on the buildings.   We were able to borrow a lift and a chipper, and we got BUSY starting on September 29th..........and going until Saturday the 3rd.   These pics are over a few days time.

Look at those beautiful tall trees, without all of the messy limbs that have been hanging there for so long.

The side that is all cleaned up, compared to the other side (still to do).  It was ALOT of work.

Zac did all of the cutting up high, and we all worked to clean up down below.

It was great to get it all done !

My trees see around corners :)

Want to hear about my  "tree" fiasco?

Well, I was wanting some trees to plant, and I kept bugging Roger D., who finally got sick of my nagging, so he said, "go ahead" - so I did...........then he wasn't happy........... go figure............

I got some "cheap" trees..... you know me, always wanting a deal.  Well, Rog was NOT TOO IMPRESSED with the trees I purchased.  They were a sorry sight for sure.  He tells everyone, that they can see around corners, because they have SUCH a bend in them.

We put two bushes, and 4 "little" trees in my back yard, on the fringe of the lawn, and one bigger tree (like the ones pictured above), only it had been "topped", I'm guessing. right in the middle of our back yard.  Now he has to mow around it, and that's ANOTHER complaint :)

These four trees (above), he made me plant over at the Property.

All in All, Roger planted two bushes, and 1 tree at our place (reluctantly).  I did the other 4 at our place.
At the Property, I planted one, and he helped with the other 3 (begrudgingly).

I tell him........."they are getting straighter EVERY DAY"........he just laughs and shakes his head.  I'm hoping that one of these days, these trees become "Gwen's Legacy", and not "Gwen's Folly".

Who knows - it may provide for a fun story to tell at my funeral one of these days.
