October Happenings

Sure love this boy !  He's a Sophomore, and into football, wrestling, friends, school, driver's ed, you name it.  We don't get to see him very much, and I've got to tell you, I sure miss the days when he was little, and around underfoot asking question after question.  I know it's all part of growing up, but this grandma's heart hurts sometimes as I see our grandchildren growing up, and their lives (and our lives) changing.  It's all part of life though, right?
One thing about have grandsons growing up, and growing muscles, is all the help they can give !
Treyson's football season is at an end, though the Varsity is still in the playoffs.  He's looking forward to wrestling.
Thatcher's season is over also - no playoffs for him.  It's been a fun year for him, and he has enjoyed it.
First snow of the season sure did another number on the 90 year old trees at the property............
It was a great day at Tagg's football game (first round of the playoffs) - the game was exciting, and we all stayed warm.  It was great to have my mom and dad there for the first time, and I tried my best to give my dad a play by play rundown of the action since he can't see what is going on, on the field.
Cam and Josiah at the Harvest Festival.  They had a great time.  Both Seniors, but attending different schools.  Both looking ahead, what does the future hold, college?  military?  We will see..........
Sleepover with the "littles" last weekend.  we carved pumpkins...........
Frosted sugar cookies, got the chocolate fountain out............
Next morning we went to church to see CJ and Thatcher in the Primary Program
This pic is from last Saturday - quarterfinals at Skyview High School in Logan.  We won 6 to 0 in a cold, wet, super exciting game !!   Tagg plays at 2:15 pm this coming Saturday at Weber High School in the semi-finals against Ridgeline.  Good luck team !!!

Odds and Ends

Payson and Landon caught a hockey game at the Ice Sheet
We dropped off pumpkins to the kids in West Haven, and it was pouring.  We met them at the bus, and they were sure excited to see us.
Love their smiles :)
Payson's team after their last game of the season.  It was a rainy day, but they had fun, and WON.  Can you spot Payson front and center, and Landon helps to coach (back row).
Saturday was a cold and rainy day to watch football.  We bundled up, and kept warm and dry.  All three boys won their games, from Layton to Brigham City, and back to Layton.  All three played center today !
This pic is from a previous game, but for the 2nd week in a row, Tagg recovered a lose ball, and ran it in for a touchdown !!  So so exciting !!!
I've deleted Facebook and Instagram from my phone.  I need to not be so distracted.
Pretty picture out my window one morning :)  Love the fall (though we woke up to snow this morning!)

Seattle Girl's Trip

Seattle is a fun city to visit.  Cam and I had a great time there in June 2019, and the four of us had a great time in October 2021.  This pic is at the Sound Transit station, near Sea-Tac.  For $2.50 per person, we have a nice easy ride to downtown Seattle, near our hotel.
Landon recommended this delicious place to eat !  It didn't disappoint.
Pikes Place Market - Click here to find out more about this sculpture of the pig
Next to the famous gum wall - we didn't get too close.
Breakfast was YUMMY at The Hart and the Hunter
Saturday was a beautiful day, and we caught the ferry to cross the bay to Bainbridge Island.
A light jacket was all that was required.
Fun to walk in the "country" - different than downtown Seattle, that's for sure !!
Cutest little eatery we found in a back alley.
Just a little "hole in the wall" place, that served up excellent tacos
Love this picture !!  Reminds me of Coco :)
After our little walk-a-bout town, we headed back to the ferry terminal along the shoreline path.
Love these two !!
Our view from the Ferry as we were headed back to Seattle.
We walked over 7 miles !!  The end was pretty slow getting back to the hotel.  We wanted to take an uber, but couldn't get one to take 4 people (no one could sit next to the driver).  This sidewalk was VERY steep.  They even had to put railings on the side of the buildings !!
There is Cam at the top..........waiting for us slow women.  40 year old who is pregnant, 84 year old who is amazing, and 60 year old whose hips hurt all the time !   Oh to be young and 17 once again !!
Manda had to work a little bit -  what are those.....?  Do I see glasses?  haha
We visited Pikes Market each day, our hotel was only 2 blocks away.
This is a view from Pike's Market.  You can see the stadiums in the background, the ferry terminal, and the remnant of the old Alaskan Viaduct can still be seen.    I remember it well, when Roger and I were here in 2007, and again in summer of 2019, the freeway was in the process of being torn down.  Now there is just a roadway (with tunnel underneath) left (see foreground).
Another piggy statue at the market.  This day was Sunday, and it was overcast and chilly, with a bit of rain.
We did the "locks" tour aboard Argosy.
We traveled north out of Elliot bay, up around and through the Ballard Locks into Lake Union
More fun pics !! Manda is missing Bren and his beard.
It was a great trip, and fun to be together.  I'd recommend Seattle for a fun weekend !!  So easy to get around, from the Sound Transit train from Sea-Tac to downtown, and then from there it's easy walking, and you can also catch a monorail, or tram to the Space Needle or Lake Union.

Great News - another new baby !!

These two are sure happy and excited!  They are expecting a new baby in January :)
Cam is excited too !  This little new baby is her cousin, how fun it will be to have a baby brother or sister :)  They are waiting to find out until the birth.
Everything is looking good, and fingers are crossed, prayers are being said.  Other than some gestational diabetes, and extreme tiredness, the new mama is hanging in there :)
