“If we keep no diary [journal], the path crumbles away behind us as our feet leave it; and days gone by are but little more than a blank, broken by a few distorted shadows. Life is all confined within the limits of to-day….”
Today was wonderful. The temperature was in the 80's, we got alot of work done, we relaxed a bunch, we were able to see Kacey and Payson, whom we hadn't seen for 2 1/2 months (in person). LOVE LOVE LOVED it !!
Most of these pics I already posted on FB, but check out the videos at the end :)
We rented a Ditch Witch at ACE. Dug a bunch of trenches, for piping for more sprinkling system Dad is putting down at the property. It was hard going. The DW was a POS (excuse the French). Treyson asked why they called it a Ditch Witch. Hmmmm........makes you think. I told him the it dug trenches, which are little Ditches, so fast and well, that it was almost like magic (that a witch does).......... Hmmmmmm......these kids are asking hard questions :)
Treyson rode around on his 4-wheeler, which is Uncle Don's old one that he used. I can't believe that Uncle Don used that little thing :) Too funny ! Treyson had a good time. He just put it in a low gear and putted around.
Lance is home for the summer from Stanford, where he just completed his first year. It was so good to see him, and he is so good to the kids. LOVE YOU LANCE !!
Mom broke out the dinner bell ! We all brought our own meat and drinks and a potluck to share. It was great as usual.
Kacey and Payson came up !! It is so good to see them. They will be here for 2 months, and Landon is coming at the end of July for 2 weeks. Yahoo !! The little boys played so well together. It seems I couldn't get enough pics.
Swinging !
LOVING THEM !!
Climbing on the Tree
Sitting on the 4-wheeler
Throwing rocks in the creek
ooooo - BIG SPASH !!
We all went in and got Dad a Father's Day gift for the property. A molded tire swing, just like ours, but green ! Zac was the installer of course :)
Back to the sandbox. They had a great time.
Tagg, getting warm after playing in the ditch
They LOVED the new swing - Treyson, Dax and Tagg
On the slide...... Payson would always climb up from the bottom, and Thatch would always climb from the back. We about had a few crashes.
So so happy to see this cute little boy in PERSON !!
There Thatch was, just sitting there minding his own business, eating watermelon, when up comes dad (VERY SLOWLY) on the 4-wheeler. It didn't faze Thatch at all, even when the winch touched him.
They had a ball with the watermelon. Thatch ate it - Payson stabbed and threw it :)
We all lined up in a line across the big grass area, and walked from one end to the other, picking up THOSE DANG BRANCHES that fall by the MILLIONS (it seems).....Everytime there is wind, more come down :/
After the party, we went for a quick view of the Rich Barnyard Menagerie. Dax even got to ride Shady !! He loved it :)
We brought over some big logs for the goats to stand on, but all they wanted to do was nibble on them. Thatcher is getting very brave around all of the animals. I can hardly wait for Payson to come and see them all. Today he didn't, because he went home for a much needed nap. Maybe tomorrow.
After everyone left, we hunkered down in the shade of the barn. Treyson and Tagg were on the other side of the barn playing. All of a sudden Roger noticed that another skunk had been caught in the live trap, and the little boys were playing about 6 feet away from it and hadn't even noticed !?!??! It was still alive, but hadn't sprayed them, thank goodness. Hopefully we are getting all of the varmints that are bothering our "girls".
Enjoy the videos below - in no particular order. (they are mostly for Landon) I am so thankful for this day. It was fantastic !
