“If we keep no diary [journal], the path crumbles away behind us as our feet leave it; and days gone by are but little more than a blank, broken by a few distorted shadows. Life is all confined within the limits of to-day….”
We went over to watch Treyson play in his last regular season machine pitch baseball game. They had a perfect record !! Playoffs start on Monday. Thatcher was TOTALLY entertained by the mister. I've had that thing for 13+ years and it's still going strong. It was great with the heat we have been having.
Grandpa Roger and his little buddy
Tangee anyone?
What a cutie patootie :)
A way to BEAT THE HEAT - a big beach ball that hooks to a hose and sprays !!
Getting DOWN AND DIRTY in the sandbox at the Property
Going......
Going......
GONE !!
The creek (yes Bethany, I'm pronouncing it CRICK....deal :) is NOT GOOD this year. They are hardly letting any water out of the dam, and it is SLOW.......DIRTY...... and SHALLOW. We only took one group up to the Lane yesterday, and it took them 30+ minutes (it usually takes 10) to get down to the property. No one wanted to go a second time :( Disappointing. I don't suppose it will get any better this year.
SAD TIMES......guess what those kids are looking for in the creek? Caiti lost her wedding ring !?!?!? They looked for hours with no luck. This is so sad.
Nothing like getting a baby messy..........and then giving him back to mom :)
In Zac and CJ's back yard, playing in the swingset
They were able to get their batting cage set up so the boys can practice hitting.
Thatch and CJ
Helping (watching) Dad
Payson came to see me at work just before they left for camping :)
Always into something !
Riding Shady on the new saddle
CJ is quite the horse woman. I think both Zac and Roger were quite surprised. She saddled her all by herself, and is teaching Tagg to do it also. Treyson doesn't want a thing to do with any of it.
Hayden and Tagg. When I asked him was his name was, Tagg said, it's Hatem' , but people don't hate him. Too funny !
He is always so smiley :)
Super cute video of Logan and Thatcher - worth the watch :)
We are going to get some hoof/hoove? softener and paint them (just like painting 4 BIG toe nails) a couple or three times a week for a month, then have Kale come back and do it again. After he was finished she looked like she was walking a little bit easier........ only kind of like on her tip-toes :)
Tagg fell in a ditch full of water the other day while showing off his mad jumping skills. Treyson ran in the house screaming, "Tagg fell in the ditch and drowned" - about gave CJ a heart attack, and this grandma too when she sent me a text !
Hangin' Loose :)
Most everyday when Dad gets home from work, they get on the bikes and go for a bike ride around town.
Thatch loves the baby goat - Brick
We ended up changing some mangers around out in the barnyard due to the new horse. The chickens didn't like our new set up, and stopped laying eggs in their usual place. I told Roger he needed to search and find them, because I was sure they were hiding them. He looked - no luck (typical man;) The other morning I was out there with the boys, and I heard the usual racket the chicken makes right after she has laid an egg. We followed the sound, and found a WHOLE pile of eggs in the dirt, back under the barbed wire stash.
Egg Man :) - ready for the ball game
We took Thatch's bike over to the ball field, and who should we meet up with there? Payson !! These two are sure cute together.
Thatch has decided he's ready for the scooter
Goof Ball Rich :)
Treyson finds himself being the "base" on the swing now.
They were having so much fun !
Grandpa on the other hand was NOT - he absolutely hates our riding lawnmower. It is such a pain, and continually clogs up. It takes him twice as long to mow the lawn, having to stop every round and dump and clean. We probably need to look into another machine :(
I am such a tease - just like my Grandpa Dickson. I waited until Tagg climbed up on the fence, before saying, "Watch OUT !! the Turkey's are coming !!"
Please disregard the big REAR.... I have trained them to eat out of my hand. They have gotten bigger and more aggressive, and I've had to add gloves. Now when I go to the barnyard, they come a come running !! It can be pretty intimidating. They haven't bothered me, unless I have a grain bucket and gloves, but if I do - I'd better be ready to feed them ! and the horse...........and the baby goat......
We found dad in his van, just before he filled in for runner 12 to finish the last leg of Ragnar.
The kids played on Park City Elementary School's jungle gym. Quite impressive !
That Tagg is a climber !
The high school football field was a festival, and the party atmosphere was everywhere.
They gave out free Frisbees, and we had a great time tossing them around while we waited for Zachary.
Future Ragnar Runner :)
Love these kids so much ! We had quite an adventurous couple of days together. I'll do a post about our fun times later.
Here comes Dad, with his team close behind him. 38 hours and 16 minutes...................it was a doozy !!
Van 1 didn't stay around for the finale, and I'm not sure where one of the runners (Natalie?) in Van 2 went. I think she was ill. It might have been her that Zac filled in for on the last leg. But here are 5 of the 6 runners in Van 2 - The "V" Squad.
