Catching Up - Saturday Burn October 12th

My computer has been out of order for a little bit.  It wouldn't upload pics.  It was getting TOO FULL.  Can you imagine that?   Lucky me - I bit the bullet and purchase a new one :)  So I'm ready and raring to go - to catch up !! So here we go.

Two Saturdays ago, we again spent our day at the Property (on the other side).  We (mostly Zac) have been working there for the past month, getting the deadfall cut, cleaned up, piled, fence pulled out, etc. etc.  We had stacked the good firewood, so that it could be given away to someone who needed it.  Today was the day the firewood would be hauled away.  We had about 15 men, 3 wood splitters, and 3-4 trucks and trailers going.

We started at 8 am, and by 10:30, the extra help and split wood was loaded and gone!  Now for the FUN to begin :)

A few more chops to clean up, and we are ready to........BURN !!

Then the FIRST of 17 piles are fired up.

Grandpa "D" surveying the beauty of it all.

I went across the creek and grabbed a couple of chairs for Dad and I (and others) to sit in to watch the show.  We dragged those things from one end of the field to the other.  Moving, sitting, moving, sitting.  It was quite the show.

I got some great shots that day, of cute kids, and beautiful creek !

A BUG - YIKES !!!
This is my favorite pic :)

Oh - it's just a piece of moss
No biggie :)

Peek-a-boo...........

I see you !!!

Helping Daddy

Grandpa - gonna get your belly !

It was a perfect day

Hot work........

But tempered by the mild day, and cool creek nearby

Taking a little break - Cam and Thatcher

The kids had a blast, playing around near the creek and exploring.

They are either fishing (haha) - or trying to get a buried pop can out of the mud (probably)

Cam thought she'd get right down in the creek bed to dig the can out, but found it to be too muddy!  She almost got stuck (tragedy:)..........  She was so ticked that I just HAD to get a picture, instead of helping her out.

The messy aftermath - there were tears to be sure

After she had walked and run through the grass (as instructed by a not too sympathetic Grandpa and Grandma), the cleanup wasn't bad.

Just a swingin'.......

The fire only got mildly out of hand in one spot, and started to burn the partially dead trees.  Remember the Peek-a-boo tree?  Yup - that's it !

Most of the crew - done for the day.
Treyson, Camryn, Tagg, Thatcher, Zac, and Roger D.
