North Pole Express

Wow - what a wild crazy fun song filled cold wonderful night !   The train left the depot at 7:30 pm,  and along the way we had hot chocolate and cookies, and a visit from Mrs. Claus.  Elves were running up and down the aisles, and we had Christmas music playing with us all singing along.  Several of us had solos, as Papa Elf  placed the microphone in our faces :)  Later we had to have the tracks cleared of reindeer as we neared the North Pole, and then slowly the train came around the corner, and there it was !!  The North Pole, all lit up, and the real live Santa, waving at us as we passed.   He hopped aboard, and the kids got hugs and squeezes from him AND a magical bell to ring in the Christmas season.  On the way back to the depot, there was dancing in the aisles, and let me tell you, Treyson, Tagg, Dax and the babies were the best dancers on the train !  We arrived back at the depot at a little after nine.  It was FREEZING as we made our way to our cars.  We are so happy Mark and Carrie and Dax were able to come with us !

We had heard there was no heat in the railroad coaches, so we dressed really warm, but it ended up not being too especially cold.  The hot chocolate helped, and with all of the activity, we didn't notice the cold unless we leaned against the windows.

Treyson, Tagg (he was happy - just a weird face in this pic) and Dax

I tell you what - she was the hippest Mrs. Santa I've ever seen......with a French beret, and a funky apron and tights.  She was passing out North Pole Express Chocolate Chip Cookie recipes.

My camera phone wasn't taking the best pics, and I didn't get any of Roger D., Zac, Mark or Carrie or even myself, but we were all there.  Many thanks to my friend, who provided the tickets.  It was MUCH appreciated.
