Signing my life away..............

Last Friday, I signed up again to "run" for my job as Assessor. I'll know at 5pm on THIS Friday if I have an opponent. Here I am with Teresa Lake (election clerk), Brenda Nelson (Recorder), myself (Assessor), Bonnie Thomson (Treasurer), and Stacy Lafitte (Clerk-Auditor). I enjoy working with all of these women. They are good friends, and good at what they do !

Where is my milk from?

I read this article on the Deseret News website, and found that the milk in my fridge came from Smith's Dairy, in Layton (Late-un), Utah (Just over the mount-un) Check out your milk here!

Tagg dressed up in my Lion's outfit (after I told him it was a kitty cat) - sorry the picture is blurry. He is SO cute. I made the "head dress" about 26 years ago, and it's been worn several times over the years. I have it out this time, because I got a call from the Stake Primary Presidency - they want to borrow it for a presentation. I'm glad it's getting some use. All I have now are the slippers and headdress. The bodysuit has long gone by the wayside....... I can't believe I actually FIT into that at one time. Those were the days........ oh where did they go ?!?!?!? Actually what's more amazing, is that Rog let me dress him as the tin man :)

Boys night out

Last night the "boys" (Zac, Treyson & Tagg) came up for supper while CJ went to Young Women's. It was the favorite - Roger's Macaroni and Tomato Juice. They love it, and Tagg eats it right up, even if it makes his little cheeks RED.........he must be sensitive to the acidity in the tomato juice. We sure love to have them over :)

My hair looks just like Maria's................seriously

Well, I finally got my hair cut.........I was trying to grow it longer, but it just wasn't working.

I am a LOW maintenance girl, that's how I roll.

I took a picture to my hairdresser......... it looked cute last night coming out of the salon, a little shorter than I would have preferred, but I could live with it.  I've got 50 days till the wedding, right??

Unfortunately, with my "skills" this morning, Maria and I could be twins :(

Good Grief - what can I do ?!?!?

She would have been 32

Yesterday my sister sent me a text. It was simple but sweet :)
"Thinking about you guys and Ambure today! Boy how time flies! I love you !! Keep Smiling!" Those few short words made my day.

Our first baby girl was born 32 years ago yesterday........ at 11:30 in the morning........9 lbs. 2 oz....... I was only 17. She was with us for 9 months and 22 days. I know that we will be together again someday - FAMILIES ARE FOREVER !!

Bountiful Baskets

A few weeks ago, I was reading a blog, and found something new I wanted to try. It is called Bountifulbaskets.org. I signed up and tried it out, and I was VERY pleased. For $15.00, I received the following:

3 Huge Grapefruit - haven't tried them yet

6 ears of corn - sent them with Landon to a barbeque
2 cucumbers - still in the fridge :( I need to get busy !
8 apples - THE BEST I have ever tasted (no lie)
3 tomatoes - VERY good for this time of year
1 pineapple - VERY GOOD
1 butternut squash - NYEAH.... we're not squash people
1 bunch of bananas - VERY GOOD
1 honeydew melon - NYEAH....we're not honeydew people
1 carton of strawberries - VERY GOOD
1 big package of spinach - EXCELLENT !!
7 small yams - Haven't tried them yet

I think everyone should check this out ! Basically, you order online on Tues/Wed of each week, and pick up on Saturday at 8am. On the first order you pay $3.00 for a couple of baskets, plus there is a $1.50 handling fee each time. My closest pickup place is in Uintah at the mouth of Weber Canyon, at their town hall by the park. They have pickup places ALL over Utah, Idaho and Arizona. Manda, are you reading this ?? I know you guys love fresh vegatables !

You don't have to order every week, (I skipped a week), and they also have other things you can add to the basic order. The basic vegetable/fruit order (see above), changes, and you never know just what you will get. I signed up again today (for this coming Saturday), and Teresa and Stacy joined it also. We are going to carpool down the canyon. Anyone else interested? Go to bountifulbaskets.org and sign up, then you'll be ready to order next Tuesday. They'll even send you an email to remind you !!

Class Act

Just prior to the start of the Air Force-BYU football game, Sept. 22, 2009, this video was broadcast in the BYU stadium in Provo , Utah . Later, the USAF Academy Superintendent, LtGen Gould, showed this clip to the faculty and staff. He told everyone that BYU ran it minutes before the kickoff at the game. He was clearly moved by it, as were those who watched it.

Our Trip to AZ

Cameron Claussen turned 7 years old on January 22nd.
We celebrated with the family at "Amazing Jakes", basically an indoor "Lagoon"

Camryn was ALL about riding the fun rides.

Once she found out that she could make them spin faster, that was all she wrote :)

Then we traveled on down to Yuma to visit mom and dad. It was beautiful sunny weather. I sure miss them at home, but I don't blame them for wanting to stay down in the warmth.
