“If we keep no diary [journal], the path crumbles away behind us as our feet leave it; and days gone by are but little more than a blank, broken by a few distorted shadows. Life is all confined within the limits of to-day….”
The creek is SO LOW - amazing compared to two years ago.
We were able to get some trees cleaned up, that had fallen during the winter
The Easter Bunny came early with eggs for the kids
Pulled a dead beaver which had been caught in a trap out of the creek. Believe it or not, I was the one who pulled it out with the rake. AND when dad pried apart the trap, I'm the one who released his leg (with a stick).
Tagg had fun gathering his eggs. Treyson came up later (after my camera died )
He kept telling me he was SUPER DOG
Spring Burn - it's HOT on Tagg's face
Thatcher's first time in the swing
He was a good boy - smiling all of the time :)
Keeping him CONTAINED :)
Grandma Gwen and Thatch
Notice Tagg, laying on the tree, watching the fire
Roger D. made a little door on the chicken house, so that his "girls" could go out into the barnyard with Zac's chickens. Tried it out today, and they went out, but hung near the door and wouldn't mix with the other chickens. Later, SAM, the goat decided to try the door, and wouldn't you know it? He fit himself through it and into the chicken pen....... unbelievable.
Thatcher's hand - all better, but with some scarring. Doesn't phase him at all. Glad he's a boy !
The boys favorite game to play - UNO. They are pros, and regularly beat Grandpa
Landon and Payson in Bacolod
Pays loves animals, and really enjoyed a zoo they went to. It wasn't a very big zoo, they were able to walk through it in 10 minutes, and it only cost all of them together about $1.10 to get in.
Not a fan of the water (at first)
They have gone swimming in the hotel pool each day, and this must have been the first day, because Landon said Pays DID NOT like it. The 2nd day was a little better, and by the 3rd day, he was loving it ! I think we will have a major swimmer by the time they get home :)
Payson was a trooper ! Landon said he was SUCH a good boy
He slept for 10 hours on the 14 1/2 hour flight ! The flight attendants couldn't get enough of him when he was awake :)
We were able to Facetime with them last night about 10pm while they were in the Manila airport, waiting to catch the final leg of their flight to Bacolod. Everyone looked great.
While the kids were getting ready to go, we brought Payson upstairs for a little bit. He just loves the big drawer with all of the big spoons and cups
Then he had a bright idea !
Inside the drawer is MUCH more fun !
Feeding Grandpa Roger
Yes Payson - you were !
Before we knew it, it was time to head to the airport
Grandpa and Grandma and all of the Aunts with Mom Payson is too busy looking around
He's such a sweetie
Kacey and Landon were upbeat and excited. Kacey was determined to keep a smile on her face, and she did !!
Off they go - towards Security...... but we couldn't leave it at that !
We followed them down, and watched and waited as they went through the arduous process. Off with the shoes, jackets, backpacks (each), two carry ons....... baby out, stroller folded up..... It was now about 8:40 pm, and they were due to board at gate C8 at 9:03pm
They made it !! Landon sent this picture from the plane
Left SLC at 9:40 pm Sunday night
Arrived at LAX at 11:40 pm Sunday night
Reportedly, Payson was an ANGEL on the plane (via text message from Landon)
Two hour lay over
THEY HAD MAJOR PROBLEMS getting on the plane to Taiwan. Apparently they were not going to let them board because they did not have a return flight planned, and no visas. Landon called Paul Lillinquist, and he pulled a few strings, booked a return flight (which they won't use), and they were the last ones on the plane. I guess if you have a VISA, you don't need a return flight booked. Something they were not informed of.
Left LAX for Taiwan at 1:30 am Monday morning (Morgan time)
14 1/2 hour flight
Planned to arrive in Taiwan at approx. 4PM Monday afternoon (Morgan time)
DONE !!
Grandma Carol received a phone call, and Payson slept for 10 hours of the 14 hour flight - YAHOO!
The flight attendants LOVED him, and carried him around, and it was a pleasant flight.
Two hour lay over
They were in the Security Line, trying to get on the plane to Manila - apparently having more issues.....
hopefully they make their flight.
Email from Landon - they made the flight !!
Leave for Manila at 6PM Monday evening (Morgan time) 1 hour 45 minute flight
Arrive in Manila at 7:45 PM Monday evening (Morgan time)
Skyped message from Landon - they arrived in Manilla 8:11 pm (our time)
Five hour layover (approx) Hoping to facetime or skype in the next couple of hours.
Leave for Bacolod at 1am Tuesday morning (Morgan time) 1 hour 20 minute flight
Arrive FINALLY in Bacolod at 2:20 am Tuesday morning (Morgan time)
BUT - since they crossed the International date line, it will actually be 4:20 pm on Tuesday AFTERNOON in Bacolod. Whew - what a trip !! We can hardly wait to hear how it all went :)
We had a wonderful get together at our home this afternoon, so that all of the family could say their good-byes to Landon, Kacey and Payson. We were so happy with the love and support that we received. There is truly nothing more important than family. Our home was overflowing, and we loved it !
