About time I talked about this...............

This is the chicken coop that Zac and CJ and family made for Rog last Christmas.  We had 3 chickens (that we really loved) in this for a few months, and we'd let them out in the yard all day, and no problems...........UNTIL that dreaded Sunday, when two of the three were killed (by an unknown predator), so we put the coop in the DOG RUN, and got two more chickens (didn't love these as much), and about 1 month later - AGAIN on a Sunday, something climbed OVER the dog run, and killed ALL OF THEM !!  That was it.  Rog said NO MORE CHICKENS...............until we get a BIG SECURE one like Zac and CJ, so........................ 

We went to the Uintas to get poles.................

Then Zac and Rog went to work

The little boys helped too !

We built the "house" and "coop" off the newly filled, graded and rotomilled carport area, and around the big Box  Elder tree at the corner of the barnyard.

I was the painter extraordinaire

We usually had an audience :)

The project literally came together in 2 weeks

Now are chickens are SAFE AND SOUND :)
The kids get a kick out of them.
Rog has a new hobby that he enjoys, and we have FRESH EGGS !
