"My Pony Boy" is a popular song written in 1909 by Bobby Heath (lyrics) and Charley O'Donnell.
It became a cliché, as its tune was frequently used in Western movies and cartoons. My Grandpa Dickson grew up with this song, and used to sing it to his grandkids and great grandkids while bouncing us on his knee. My Dad did too, and now so do I. I think I've heard Zac and Landon do it once or twice, but the kids like me best - we tend to get wild and crazy on the giddy up part :)
