September - What's up with me and Roger

For Labor Day we had a quick impromptu cook out.
We've only had 3-4 cookouts at the Property this year :(
This is when Traci cut Roger's hair for the wedding.
I wish he would get it done monthly, but he refuses.

Mom's sunflowers grew well this year also.
Sunflowers are such happy flowers.
Good onion crop this year.  Drying them out in the shop.
My favorite pan (from my Grandma Dickson) broke again.
I got this in 1995 after Grandma died, and the original handle lasted until 2008, then I had Craig Nelson replace it for me.  It's lasted till now, and I've taken it back to Craig.  Hopefully I'll get it back soon.
Relaxing on Mom's porch
Doing the corn.   Such a slick way to do corn !
Here's how it is done - see video
Football game - like my hat ?
Roger doesn't haha
So glad the garden is mostly 99% done.
Relief Society activity at Lynette Durrant's.
We made flower arrangements.
I made one for Angie and Jessie for their birthdays.
Can you spot me in the back?
Emily Pulver, Vinda Preslar, Me, Sara Rice, Lisa Streadbeck, Riley Streadbeck, Annette Streadbeck, Amy Fairchild, and Lynette Durrant (Denise Hansen is taking the picture)
Tiana (my niece) has been traveling ALL over Europe.  She sends me post cards, and I LOVE THEM !!
We did tomato juice and salsa this year.  Always glad to get that done.
Still mowing hard.  I like the exercise I get, but will be glad when it's over.
LuAnn went to Branson MO with friends.
Our old 2004 Saturn bit the dust  - we gave it to Kars for Kids.

Finishing up May

My dad's sister, Barbara Whittier died, and we spent the rainy Saturday on Memorial Day weekend at her viewing, funeral, graveside, and luncheon.
She was a good aunt to me.  I always knew she loved me.  I'm so happy she can be back with Uncle Short, and Grandma and Grandpa Dickson again.  She was 97 years old.
Here are my cousins (Aunt Barbara's kids) with their spouses standing behind them.
Left to right:  Bret and Margo, Jack and Robyn, Dianne (Jerry has passed away), Dee and Mary Lou, and Dick and Becky.

Bret and Margo live in Cedar City, where he runs/owns the cattle stockyards.  He has been a Stake President (maybe he still is?)  Jack and Robyn are serving a mission in Toronto, Canada, they have lived mostly in Colorado and Nebraska, but will be coming back to make their home in Morgan after their mission.  Diane lives in Hooper, Dee and Mary Lou live in Virginia, he is a veterinarian, and Dick and Becky live in Cache Valley.  Dick works as a sealer in the Logan temple, and Becky is retired from teaching.
Mom and I have been going to the temple early Tuesday mornings, every other week.
My Eternal Gravestone venture hasn't proved to be as appealing as I thought it would.  Becky Tonks Rasmussen's family sure loved the one I did for Val.  I think I could get the word out, and actually SHOW it to people, it would prove to be profitable.............but I'm not much of a "marketer".
The yellow balloons wouldn't stay blown up, they either popped or deflated.  I posted a couple of times on Morgan Mom's but it didn't seem to generate any questions or interest.
Becky and I got Mom and Lillus together for a nice visit.  Also there were Becky, Adele, and Eric.  We sat in mom's home and chatted for about 30-45 minutes on Sunday.  It was great to see them all again, and get caught up.
Roger and I rode up to the Porterville Cemetery - beautiful view.
We also rode up to East Canyon Dam, which is spilling.
Tagg has started Football Camp already, and the Maroon and White scrimmage is next week !
It was a lazy day in AZ for family there.  They watched Ghost Busters (the original) - Josiah had never seen it.  Swam, ate, and relaxed.

We cooked a hamburger at the property with Mom and Dad, and Zac and CJ and Tagg.  Thatcher was off with friends, Treyson was working (he came at the end).

I understand that Payson had a baseball tournament in Salem.

What's new?

We finally got a new TV that doesn't have a BLACK LINE down the entire right side (12 inches).  Rog and I got it HUNG on the wall without filing for divorce !  That's a big accomplishment.  Our "go to" guy was snowmobiling, so we had to handle it on our own.  We were pretty proud of ourselves.
Me and Stace at work - holding down the fort on a Friday while Mitch was off birthing lambs, and Janell and family were in Disneyland.   The days are winding down, as of this posting, I have only 210 more days till retirement - YAHOO!!
Winter still has it's grip on Morgan, that's for sure.  This was after 3 inches (Roger had plowed already) on February 18th.  We were scheduled to get another big storm on the 21st/22nd (when I was preparing this post on the 20th).  I wonder if it happened?  This won't post until March 4th.  Hmmmm.......

Check this video out - we have a strip of grass right next to our front porch, and the deer like to MUNCH on it.

Memories - mowing the lawn

Funny story - one I've told before (I think).  We had an old push mower (no self propelled wheels back in my day), and a BIG BACK YARD.  We sure loved that big back yard when it was time to water (flood irrigate), but NOT when it was time to mow.  I remember being mad, not wanting to mow one day, and as I was mowing around, I carved a big "H" in the middle.  "H" for Hell (swear word).  Then when all of the lawn was mowed except for the "H", I mowed it too !  I don't think I ever went and got Mom or Dad and showed them my "rebellion" - haha !!  I just mowed it up, and being "creative" while I mowed, helped ease the pain and boredom of the mowing I guess.........  such a kid !!
