Our life lately

Cam is going to be going to Hawaii in September with her Schutt Family.  She is sure excited !
Little Cash is eating so well.  He eats most everything his parents do, just pureed or smooshed up.
Isn't that a cute little curl on the top of his head?
Givin' Sissy a "side-eye"
Manda sends us the cutest pics of his funny faces - we always get a chuckle out of them.
I love this picture, and the lighting.
Cash and Daddy - relaxin'
Speaking of relaxing...................
Roger D.  A summer night on our front porch after the sun goes down over the hill.
Beautiful sunset reflecting off the Eastern clouds, one night on my evening walk.
Another "project"  = a box to hide all the mess of wires at my office.
A surprise visitor last Sunday morning.  Thank goodness no damage was done.
Zac has been working on a place to shoot bows down at the Property.
Also, working on a booth for CJ's Swiss Day's adventure which is coming up at the first of September.

I made the news !

I took this cool picture as a storm was rolling in on June 17th.   Later, I was on Facebook, and I follow Sterling Poulson (weather man), and he posted a picture of the storm.............so I posted MY picture to his page, and then he asked me where it was taken, and I told him.........
I didn't think anything more about it, until Traca Wardell saw me at council meeting the next night, and she said, "Cool picture you took !"  and I said, "What"?    I guess it was on TELEVISION !!  with my name !  How cool is that ?

Old pictures are such a treasure !

What family is this?
If you are reading this blog, you might be related.
Any guesses? See anyone who looks familiar?
This is James Thomas Rich and Emma Elizabeth Hemming Rich and their children.
In this picture, taken in approx. 1899, James is 44 and Emma is 40.  They have already buried a son William who died at age 9, a baby girl and boy twins who died at birth, a 3 year old little girl Elsie, and a still born.
Their remaining children here are James Henry 17 years, Charles Alfred 15 years, Lydia 13, Charlotte 10, Emma 8, and Eliza (baby).
Charles is Roger's Grandfather.  Doesn't he look so serious?  I guess they all do.  When they took pictures back then, you had to hold still for several minutes, and it was easier to hold still without a smile.
Emma was born in New York, and came to Utah with her parents who were converts to the church, at a young age.  James was born in Centerville, Utah.
They married in 1878, so at the taking of this picture they had been married 21 years. They were married in the Endowment House in Salt Lake because the Salt Lake Temple hadn't been completed. They made their home in Richville where James worked as a farmer.   Their home has been torn down now, but was where Von Rich had his modular home, and where Justin Preece is now building his home now (2016).
Emma was Relief Society President in the Richville ward for 27 years !  Wow.  James died at age 63.  His death certificate says he died from hardening of the arteries, brought on by mental worry. Emma was a widow for 22 more years, and suffered a paralyzing stroke, at age 78, and lived three more years, passing away in 1940.

Too many pics............too little time...........

The last remaining piles of sticks needed to be burned.  Zac has worked long and hard on this fence line.  He dug it out (by hand), leveled it, and raked the debris away.  It is pretty much ready to go.
Light em' up !

I can't get enough of taking pics of the creek this fall.
Absolutely BEAUTIFUL !

Tagg with his BOGS on, walked right out in the middle in the shallow part.  He then proceeded to mimic "BELT" - from the movie, "The Croods".  What a kid :)

It was a bit WINDY !
Payson and Kacey

The RICH Minions
Gotta love me some Despicable ME :)

They all wore this to the PTSO fall festival at the school on Monday night.

Yesterday

I took this picture yesterday morning at 7:00 am as I was walking into work.  The lighting was absolutely beautiful.  The dark clouds in back, sun shining in front.  LOVE IT !

When I came home at noon, I found a DEAD CHICKEN !  The door to the coop was left open, but we figured it couldn't have been a varmint, or else we would have lost many many more chickens, and this one is the only one.  We are guessing it was another chicken (or turkey?) that took after it.  So sad :(

The ducks are sure growing.  I hope it's a male and female, and we will get some babies :)

The turkeys are getting bigger too.  We are pretty sure the dark one "Dark Vegan", is a Tom.  I even got them to eat scratch from my hand the other night.  They are curious birds.  CJ is still kind of nervous around them, but they have never showed any kind of aggression.  No  - we are NOT having them for Thanksgiving !

Much better than this, huh?

Pictures from today......

When I got home from Visiting Teaching tonight, this was scrawled on our driveway.  Sure made me smile.

We saw this moose today, near the Morgan Summit County line near Lewis Peak.  We were out measuring cabins.  The velvet horns looked beautiful, but it was pretty skinny.
This badger (with lunch in his mouth) was ready to take us on when we stopped to get his picture.
Last night - you can almost see the double rainbows.

Tonight from the front porch.
I love summer !
