Our August

You can't really tell it from this picture, but Roger is cleaning the screen from our bedroom window.  We took out the sliding windows (and screen) and polished them up really good.  Even took out the bottom "rail" (Which we didn't know could be removed, but Zac told us it would) and cleaned it too.

Rog and I have started cleaning our own house (Every other Thursday morning for 1 hour), instead of paying someone.  Roger vacuums everything, and dusts, and removes and shakes the rugs.  I do the bathrooms, and all of the tile mopping (there is alot).  It has worked out REALLY well.

Look close, you can see Roger spraying, and me driving,  We have to keep up on the spraying every month, and it takes alot of spray. 

Sunflowers are my favorite. 

We finally sold some lawnmowers.  I should say the Roger finally decided to part with some of them :)

We watched the fire of course.

Happy Birthday to Grandma D

Grandma D's birthday was on August 8th - this picture is from the next day after Tagg's farewell luncheon where we presented her with a FUN cake, and sang Happy Birthday to her.  She is 89 years YOUNG !!!

I'm getting payback with Bex - She can never keep a straight face........much like I was at her age !!! 

That afternoon (of the 8th) - the Rocky Canyon Faire blew up !!   It had started the day before off of Highway 66 up East Canyon.   

The smoke got bigger and bigger, and formed a Pyrocumulus Cloud,

The next day Bexlee took the image and asked AI to make a BIG FIRE !!!
I sent this to Manda, and she just about died !!!  I shouldn't have done that :(

That night you could still see it burning. 

It was quite the sight !!!! 

Uinta Camping.........and a FIRE :(

Landon and Kacey went with friends camping in the Uintas.  Bentley loved her friends "strider bike" so much, that Landon had to make a trip to Walmart in Evanston to buy her one !!  She's a natural athlete !!

Bexlee dunked herself completely under the water.  The other girls soon followed suit.

Bright and Bentz were riding alone on the 4-wheeler a little ways from camp when it caught fire !!
They were able to get off safely, and some passer-bys stopped and put out the fire with some handy water bottles.  The girls (especially Bright) were shook up.  The nice people who stopped to help, pulled the 4-wheeler back to camp.  They are so blessed to not be hurt !  

Last Fun WARM Saturday this year

I had some helpers at the Property, raking leaves

And we roasted marshmallows to make S'mores

Threw rock after rock into the clear (lowering) creek.

So so sweet !!!

Fed Miss Piggy our frozen pumpkins.......  
We didn't even get to carve ANY this year !!!

But my friend Angi had given me three little pumpkins that I kept on my window-sill, and so they painted them right up !!

Then we went out to swing for awhile.  
LIFE IS GOOD !!!!

Tagg bought a little wooden box (full of golf balls) at a yard sale Saturday morning.  When he brought it up to show me, he dropped it off the front porch, and it broke into pieces.  Here is Grandpa Roger getting it fixed up with the wood glue !! Yea!!

Tagg has lost ANOTHER tooth - makes it hard to eat some things, but not peas!!  Which as I got a close up of his teeth, all you could see was pea guts (stuck in his teeth) - I'll spare you THAT picture :)

Saturday night, CJ called about 8:30, and said, "Why don't you ride your bikes over town and we'll go for a bike ride!"  We did, and it was really fun............

Then it got dark !

We made it back to Zac and CJ's, and then they drove us home in the car :)  We need to do this again !!



Sunday afternoon, the boys came up, and with the beautiful asphalt, they cannot be contained !!   I need to post a video, but they are quite the go-getters........even Thatch.

Our borrowed peacock, dragging a feather.  Apparently this is the time they lose them.  I've picked up about 30-35 feathers over the past two weeks.  Fun fun !!

Brightyn was SUCH a good baby.  I can hardly wait to get she and Cam together for some pics :)  Our two beautiful Grand daughters.



Out of all the kids, I think Payson loves this swing most of all.  Kacey (and Tagg) would push, and Brightyn would just giggle and giggle. 



The light is just beautiful in the evening at the property.

Before we left we had to stop and visit the garden.  Thatch "helped" Grandpa D with the watering.



The rest of us raided the PEAS - so good !

AND the few hiding raspberries.............. When they come on, there will be a TON.  I sure hate the bees though - they are EVERYWHERE.

The sunset was beautiful, with a red glow due to all of the smoke in the air.

I ended up taking mom and dad up to Round Valley and we stopped at Bruce and Carol's and watched the fire fighting efforts.  The fire had "exploded" yesterday afternoon in the wind, and traveled down through Tunnel Hollow, and crested the ridge into Philshop Hollow.  We saw the big tanker planes dropping the red fire retardant.  It was pretty impressive.
