Ragnar Recap with pics !

I was able to watch this sweetie while Landon and Kacey ran Ragnar.  What a good baby.  She was a joy, except when I couldn't get her to eat, and was worried I was doing something wrong !  She survived me :)

At the starting line in Logan - they got rained on !
Our adopted peacock, strutting in the rain.   We were worried our guys were getting rained on, and they were, but they survived too !

We drove over to Huntsville, and met up with the team.  This was just before Kacey left on her second leg.  This was about noon.

There she goes !
Kacey passed off to Zac (which we didn't see), and then Zac passed off to Lando in Huntsville.

We had picked up Subway, and went to the park next to the church handoff to eat and watch.

Thatch (and the other boys) LOVE LOVE LOVE Brightyn :)
Back home for the afternoon, Brightyn checking out the barnyard.

Then we drove down to Annette's to watch for our team again when they passed by. This was about 5 pm.

Wow - a large gust of wind came up and we about were blown away!  When you were in the sun it was HOT, that is why we had the umbrellas.

Of course Roger D just LOVES me taking his pic.  Annette too :)

And here comes Zachary !

Shedding an extra icky sweaty shirt :)  Tagg is such a helper :)

Tagg, me and Brightyn.  Waiting for Landon to run by near the Milton church.

Back at our house about 7pm.  Stan had just ran by.  This was their RIDE.

We had quite the houseful last night.  CJ was volunteering for Ragnar at the H.S.  They are such great kids, all of them.  It's great to a grandma, albeit a tired one :)
This morning - relaxing at home, waiting to head up to Park City for the finish.  There is Tagg in the background, cleaning for me.  He vacuumed, mopped the floor, dusted, shook rugs, emptied garbage..........  amazing !

Jennie passing off to Kacey.  This was the last leg of the race for both of them.  ALL of the "last legs" KICKED BUTT, and not in a good way.  Oh so HARD !!
At the finish line in Park City - hiding under tables to keep out of the sun !

CJ  = big helper :)  But we did figure it out that 2 women, against four children (including a baby, a 2 year old, 2 old boys who couldn't get along, 2 strollers, and a bus ride from parking) is an uneven match !  Where was Grandpa Roger when you needed him !?!

Waiting for the last runner on their team to finish - everyone is smiles here........but I think some of them were forced ;)

Thatcher got YOGURT ALL OVER his shirt at this point.

She missed her Daddy :)
And there they are crossing at 4:15 pm.  35 hours and 15 minutes after they started !!  YEAH !!!

Ragnar Recap

We found dad in his van, just before he filled in for runner 12 to finish the last leg of Ragnar.

The kids played on Park City Elementary School's jungle gym.  Quite impressive !

That Tagg is a climber !

The high school football field was a festival, and the party atmosphere was everywhere.

They gave out free Frisbees, and we had a great time tossing them around while we waited for Zachary.

Future Ragnar Runner :)

Love these kids so much !  We had quite an adventurous couple of days together.  I'll do a post about our fun times later.

Here comes Dad, with his team close behind him.  38 hours and 16 minutes...................it was a doozy !!

Van 1 didn't stay around for the finale, and I'm not sure where one of the runners  (Natalie?) in Van 2 went.  I think she was ill.  It might have been her that Zac filled in for on the last leg.  But here are 5 of the 6 runners in Van 2 - The "V" Squad.

Ragnar - Love it !

I ran Zac over to Liberty (near Huntsville) to meet up with his Van 2 for Ragnar this year.  It is CJ's sister's team.  McKenzie is in Van 1, and Zac was with 5 women he didn't know.   Zac was in Runner position 9 - which was one position BEFORE the leg he ran last year, so he was somewhat familiar with it.  In the picture above, the team with Santa Hat's is Alan Brooks team.  There were alot of creative teams !  Unfortunately I didn't get a picture of Zac with his team.  Maybe the 2nd day?

I watched the kids while Zac ran and CJ worked.  I had them help me clean the house.  We vacuumed, dusted, cleaned toilets, shook rugs, and scrubbed floors.   I fixed pizza, and had  mom and dad and Kacey and Payson come over to eat after Rog got home.

We had a fun time afterwards, sitting out front and watching the runners go by.  Treyson and Tagg were cheering them on. It was pretty cute.

They received many HONKS and Thanks from the vans and the runners.

What a couple of goofs !!

Afterwards in the tub :)

Zac called about 8pm, and we went over to meet the van to give him some  water and gatorade.  It was CRAZY BUSY in Morgan.  We ended up having the Ragnar Van 2 team come to our house and sleep in their sleeping bags in our basement, instead of the cold ground at the High School.  They were able to shower and use the facilities here in comfort.  I'm glad they felt they could come here.  It's about 11pm as I'm posting this, and they will be up by midnight, ready to head up to East Canyon Marina for the 2nd Van exchange.  They will run from the Marina to Oakley (I think) and then Van 1 will take over again.   Zac will run from Henefer to North Summit High School in Coalville, in the middle of the night.  We will try and meet up with them at the Homestead in Midway tomorrow, where Zac will finish his 3rd leg.  We may even try to end up at the finish line........we'll see what happens.
