October Happenings

Sure love this boy !  He's a Sophomore, and into football, wrestling, friends, school, driver's ed, you name it.  We don't get to see him very much, and I've got to tell you, I sure miss the days when he was little, and around underfoot asking question after question.  I know it's all part of growing up, but this grandma's heart hurts sometimes as I see our grandchildren growing up, and their lives (and our lives) changing.  It's all part of life though, right?
One thing about have grandsons growing up, and growing muscles, is all the help they can give !
Treyson's football season is at an end, though the Varsity is still in the playoffs.  He's looking forward to wrestling.
Thatcher's season is over also - no playoffs for him.  It's been a fun year for him, and he has enjoyed it.
First snow of the season sure did another number on the 90 year old trees at the property............
It was a great day at Tagg's football game (first round of the playoffs) - the game was exciting, and we all stayed warm.  It was great to have my mom and dad there for the first time, and I tried my best to give my dad a play by play rundown of the action since he can't see what is going on, on the field.
Cam and Josiah at the Harvest Festival.  They had a great time.  Both Seniors, but attending different schools.  Both looking ahead, what does the future hold, college?  military?  We will see..........
Sleepover with the "littles" last weekend.  we carved pumpkins...........
Frosted sugar cookies, got the chocolate fountain out............
Next morning we went to church to see CJ and Thatcher in the Primary Program
This pic is from last Saturday - quarterfinals at Skyview High School in Logan.  We won 6 to 0 in a cold, wet, super exciting game !!   Tagg plays at 2:15 pm this coming Saturday at Weber High School in the semi-finals against Ridgeline.  Good luck team !!!

Odds and Ends

We made two batches of Pizza sauce a little bit ago.  How do you like my NO SPLASH covers?
This girlie :)  She always makes me smile
We had a barbeque at the Property one Sunday night.  Love these guys !
After a YEAR of remodeling, problems, etc.  Manda's kitchen is finally coming together.  Yeah !!

On (August 26) there was a big explosion (green circle)  at a business between Manda's house (red circle), and Cam's school (blue circle).   Manda said it was pretty intense and scary, and when they ran outside of their home to see what the commotion was, all they could see was smoke and debris in the air.........looking towards Cam's school.   She immediately texted Cam, to make sure everything was okay.  Thank goodness !!  Here is a link to the story of what happened.
We've been cutting down cornstalks each night, and feeding the goats.  They hear us over in Mom and Dad's garden, and they start bellowing :)   They know what's coming  !
Tagg - spot the bright yellow socks ?
Thatch and his friends came over to my work.  It's been a LOOOOONNNNNNGGGGG time since any of the grandkids have stopped by.  It was wonderful :)

Bex and I had fun building with Legos
Landon and Kacey and Steve and Yvonne had a nice trip up to Washington State.
Meanwhile, we had a great time at our house.
We raided the garden a little early, and grabbed us some baby boos to paint.
Brushy Brushy Brushy
We met up with Grandma Carol at Payson's football game in Layton
Then it was back to our house for the chocolate fountain.  It's been SUCH a hit !!
These three boys all played CENTER last Saturday at their respective football games.
Treyson meanwhile, plays right tackle on the O'line.  He does a great job too.
These three came to church with me and Grandma Ben.
We picked some of the Zinnias for Kacey at the garden.
Here we are with our Primary Class.  All of these kids turn 9 this year.
Grandma Ben, Brightyn, Maddie, Moe, Beck, Me
Tahtcher, Levi, and Payson
They had a great time on their little vaca.
And here's the list of what we did while mom and dad were gone.  I believe we got everything done except the PROPERTY.

Our Bright little Grandaughter :)

This sweetie came to our home last Saturday afternoon for a sleepover.  See that smile?  That is Brightyn, 99% of the time.   She came with me after Payson's basketball game in Kaysville.  I had a few stops to make at stores, and she was a trooper !  The Deseret Industries was our first stop, and boy did we make a haul.  We picked up an elephant for Tenzin's grave, and first thing we did when we got back to Morgan, was make the trek to the cemetery.  We spent a little time there, and she ran around from grave to grave, picking up flowers and placing them back in place.  It was beautiful warm and sunny.
Sprucing up Grandpa Ben's gravesite.

Then we headed up to Grandma D's, looking for Grandpa Roger who was mowing up leaves.  It was here that she changed into her new PJ's from the DI.  She had come away with me from the basketball game so quick, that she didn't have any to wear overnight, so she picked some out.  She LOVED them.  They became her attire for the rest of the afternoon and evening.
She had to try out Thatcher's new "hanging bed"

Then of course we had Tagg and Thatcher come over to help us make pizza.  They each made their own in pie tins, and we made two big ones also.  The kids are totally hands-on with this, and they love it.  I hope when they are grown, this is one of the things they remember about coming to our house.
YUM!!!

Bright can Dance !  And she's a pro with ALEXA.  "Alexa, play this song, and Alexa, play that song"  Then we'd listen and sing along, and dance............  so much fun !!
Sunday morning bedhead, after sleeping on the family room floor with Brightyn in her "fort"
I was so tired, that I lay down beside her at 7:30pm (8:30 after we turned the clocks back).  She was watching Happy Feet, and I promptly fell asleep.  I guess she did too, shortly after me, and Grandpa Roger sat there in his chair, and finally turned off the TV much later and went to bed.
Bright had BED HEAD too !
We went to see the goats in the barnyard

And Miss Piggy too.............who you can't really see in the shadows of the morning sunlight.  She loves to be stroked behind her ears, which is the only soft spot on her hard, prickly, scaley body.
Then it was on to the chicken coop, where we were able to CATCH a chicken to hold.  This girl loves animals SO much !!
A swing on the tire completed our outside adventure
It was back in the house, where she proceeded to crack and cook - 4 green eggs.
She's a pro !!  We added cheese, and she ate them ALL UP !!

She loves her ketchup
This was my attempt at her hair for church.  I have NO little girl ribbons or elastics , so we used her left over bobby pins from the day before, and some craft ribbon (haha) *Note to self, GET SOME !
She hopped in our new shower, because the big whirlpool tub is gone.  This was her first time, and she was a little nervous, but I adjusted the spray way down low, and put the seat down, and she ended up standing in there for a long time, just basking in the warm water.  She loved it.
At church we went to Primary, and she was chosen as one of the kids to play a matching game, then we went to her Primary Class, and cousin Ridge was in there too.  I think she enjoyed it, but for sure wanted me by her side, which I was happy to do.  I mean, who likes to be alone in a new place?  Not me !
Bright loves to draw, and write.  Can you believe she did this ALL BY HERSELF at 5 years old ?
I am humbled and amazed.  Little Children are truly so sweet and innocent.
