Early morning Hike to Adams Canyon

Zac always loves to have company when hiking, especially his boys.
This will be the last hike for awhile with Tagg.........  mission coming up soon !!

 

Half Dome here we come !!!

This picture was taken while Roger and I were taking a small quick hike (sans water).  We even saw a bear !!!

Saturday, June 27th, before Tagg's all-star game, we were down working at the Property with Zac, and mentioned that Mark and his family were headed to Yosemite to hike Half Dome.  Landon had thought about hiking with them, but it didn't work out for him. Apparently Zac didn't know about this planned hike, but REALLY was interested.  At the last minute I reached out to Mark, and they still had a permit available, so what did we do?

We jumped in the car early Sunday morning (the next day), and drove all day.  Did you know it takes 8 1/2 hours to get from Morgan to the EAST entrance to Yosemite?  ...........and then another 2 1/2 hours to drive 83 miles to get to Yosemite Valley in the middle of the park where the lodging is, and where most of the hiking takes place.

 

This is a picture of Mark and family on top of Granite Peak (they drove to this point).  You can see Half Dome in the background.  

Mark and Carrie and their two boys, Dax and Devin, met Carrie's sister Shelly and her husband who drove in from San Diego and they stayed in an Airbnb near Yosemite, just outside the park proper.  
We were luckily able to secure lodging at Curry Village in a tent Cabin on Sunday night in preparation for Zac's hiking half dome with Mark's family on Monday morning early.  

After the hike, we drove back to the East entrance and stayed in a little motel in a town called Lee Vining, California.  Then Tuesday morning, we headed home and were back in good old Morgan Utah by 3pm.  

It was a quick fast trip, and really enjoyable.  Roger and I were able to get in a little quick 3 mile hike, and relaxed around Curry Village while waiting for the BIG HIKERS to get back from their adventure. We'd never been to Yosemite before, and I'm surprised to say my Mom and Dad never went there either, and my sister Erika hasn't either !!  It's an unusual feat to be somewhere my sister hasn't been, because she's a world traveler !!

44 years old - We love you !! 

 

Racing again ! Zac competes in Snow Canyon Half Marathon

We drove down with Zac and Thatcher on Friday before the big State Championship game (Saturday), and stayed over night so that Zac could be up early to run the race. 

13.1 miles - and he did it in 1 1/2 hours - Great accomplishment.

Rich Family - September (besides football)

There was the Homecoming Parade, and all three boys were on floats for football, but I didn't get any good pics :(

Tagg went on his first DATE with Aubryn Jones to the HOCO Dance.

Most of these boys (all?) are on the football team. 

Treyson won a pair of Air Jordan's at a BYU football game that he went to with friends. 
Everyone was sure jealous !  It was a 1 in 1000 chance.  What luck !

Thatcher hurt his knee/femur with a BAD bone bruise at football practice, and missed the last 3 games of the season. 

Treyson had a birthday - 18 years old

1981 - Just a month old
I can  hardly remember those days -39 years ago.

Accident !

Zac slipping off the back of his work van and caught his elbow on the bumper.  Thank goodness it wasn't his elbow attached to the arm attached to the shoulder that he had surgery on !  He worked all day with it bleeding, before he finally went to the doctor to get it sewn up. 

Not a very happy camper, for sure.
