Our life in February

Dad's headstone is done, and will hopefully be set in March 

Mom's still sewing her quilts, though this is a pic Mark took (I think) of her doing some repair work on his pants.  

It was so warm at the first of the month we though we would get started on the grates at the "Pit", but we no sooner started, and the weather turned again.  

I went to a water color class put on by the Relief Society.
It was fun, but I don't think I have the water color gene.

Went to the renovated St. George Temple while we were down at baseball games.  
Probably the most beautiful temple I've seen.

September - What's up with me and Roger

For Labor Day we had a quick impromptu cook out.  
We've only had 3-4 cookouts at the Property this year :(

This is when Traci cut Roger's hair for the wedding.
I wish he would get it done monthly, but he refuses. 

Mom's sunflowers grew well this year also. 
Sunflowers are such happy flowers.

My favorite pan (from my Grandma Dickson) broke again.
I got this in 1995 after Grandma died, and the original handle lasted until 2008, then I had Craig Nelson replace it for me.  It's lasted till now, and I've taken it back to Craig.  Hopefully I'll get it back soon.

Tiana (my niece) has been traveling ALL over Europe.  She sends me post cards, and I LOVE THEM !! 

We did tomato juice and salsa this year.  Always glad to get that done. 

Still mowing hard.  I like the exercise I get, but will be glad when it's over. 

LuAnn went to Branson MO with friends. 

Our old 2004 Saturn bit the dust  - we gave it to Kars for Kids. 

 

A Change - out with the old, in with the new

It's been my privilege to serve with these wonderful women for the past 3 years and 3 months in the Relief Society Presidency in our ward.

It has been a wonderful association, and opportunity as we have worked together with the Lord's help,  to do our best for the sisters in our ward.

As 2020 comes to a close, we may wish to FLUSH all trials of these past few months away.
Hopefully we can remember the lessons we have learned, and most importantly,
that we can rely on the Lord's protection as we strive to HEAR HIM daily.

Love my beautiful Poinsettia that we got through Brightyn's fundraiser for tumbling.  It was used extensively in our Ward's Christmas Devotional which was filmed last Sunday, and will be broadcast on the ward's YOUTUBE channel NEXT Sunday, the 20th. 

I bought The Forgotten Carols, and have been passing it around to anyone who would like to see it.  It is wonderful :) 

Love my little CHRISTmas tree.  Krista Adams built me the box to put it on.  So happy !

We have sure seen alot of changes in the 3 years we have served.

Councils in Relief Society (once a month, in a circle)
Ministering instead of Visiting Teaching
2 hour block change - Relief Society only 2 times a month
COVID - No Church (March-July)
Social Distancing - get together at the Property
COVID - Sacrament only (July-Oct)
COVID - Zoom RS meetings 2 times a month
What is next !?!?!?

We were able to get together last Sunday (Roger, Gwen, Mark, Carrie, Erika, Aaron and Tiana) with mom and dad and present them with our Christmas present.  It turned out so well. 

Bright finally got her tooth out with a little help from her dad !
She is a BRAVE GIRL !!

After putting it off for weeks (of warm weather), we braved the 19 degree temperature yesterday and got the Christmas decorations up to the cemetery. 

 

Last but not least - Manda texted me this picture.
Apparently the story I told the kids years ago, about Stephen King's story of THE MIST is still freaking her out (haha) - Love you Manda !!!

Putting up Christmas Lights

Makes this Grandma's heart swell.  These boys came over and watched the Youth presentation by Elder Gong last Sunday evening.  Unfortunately I can't figure out how to get BYU channel on my TV, so they braved through watching most of it on my little laptop screen.  LOVE THESE GUYS !

Finished Project !  WOW

I've been to the new Family Search near the Ogden Temple.  I was able to get my great grandfather's missionary journal scanned with my 2nd cousin.  Still working on getting it uploaded to Family Search.
