Bexlee's Baptism Day

Landon baptized Bex at the White Stake House this morning.  Michael Rose's brother's boy was baptized too.  When Bex was confirmed, Landon, Michael, Blake Mecham (brother-in-law), Bart Brooks (Relation and also Bishop's counselor), and Marlin Brooks (Great Grandpa) stood in the circle for the blessing.
What a beautiful Bexlee :)

We had a nice luncheon at Landon and Kacey's afterwards
Payson and Bright stood as witnesses near the font for the baptism.  What a great opportunity for them !
Glad both Great Grandma's were able to come.
Love these "guys" of mine :)

Bright's Baptism Day

This sweet girl was baptized on April 9th.  These great pictures were taken by Aunt Jordyn at the Utah State Capitol while the apple/cherry blossoms were in full bloom.
I gave a short talk on the Holy Ghost.  I brought Bright's favorite blanket she always uses at sleepovers at our house for a visual effect.
I had an alarm set on my phone, which I set off to demonstrate this.
I talked about her teacher at school - and those that have taught her things throughout her life.
I had an envelope, with a message just for Brightyn
I showed a sign, showing THIS way?  or THIS way?
I showed a picture of Brightyn with one of her best friends (Zaidy)
Here she is with her dad who baptized her, holding the blanket I brought.
Hugs from Grandma Carol
Four Generations
Grandma Ben, Grandpa Roger, Dad (Landon)
and our Baptism Girl.
Back at the house we had a wonderful luncheon,  Here Bright is with Grandma Sue, Grandpa Gary, and Grandma Ruth.
Such a sweet silly girl - with her lunch (insert crazy eyes here)
She loves Grandma Gwen's cake pops :)

How do you forget something so SPECIAL?

Way back in May..........May 2nd to be exact, right when my phone downloading pictures was acting up, something SPECIAL happened.  I don't know how in the FINAL transferring of pictures (an arduous task) to my phone, these got missed!?!?!  I was thinking the other day, (no Roger, it didn't hurt) - and all of a sudden, I couldn't remember blogging about this.  I searched under "baptism" on my blog's search feature..........and sure enough.  I had somehow missed documenting this special day.  It was a good day, and  a hard day.  Because of COVID, it was different.  Only Zac and CJ's immediate (and I mean immediate) family could be there.  That was hard for THIS grandma, and others too.  But it made it extra special for their family I think.  We are proud of Thatcher for choosing to be baptized, and for Tagg and his ordination to the Aaronic Priesthood - he can now pass the Sacrament !

All dressed in white - Ready to get in the font.

In our church - when you are baptized, it is by immersion.  We follow the example of our Savior, Jesus Christ.  Zac baptized Thatcher.  This is how it is done:

  1. Stands in the water with the person who will be baptized.

  2. For convenience and safety, holds the person’s right wrist with his left hand; the person being baptized holds the left wrist of the one performing the baptism with his or her left hand.

  3. Raises his right arm to the square.

  4. States the person’s full name and says, “Having been commissioned of Jesus Christ, I baptize you in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost. Amen” (D&C 20:73).

  5. Has the person hold his or her nose with the right hand for convenience; the one performing the baptism places his right hand high on the person’s back and immerses the person completely, including the person’s clothing.

  6. Helps the person come up out of the water.

I'd say this kid was pretty happy :)

Zac with his boys  - all looking pretty dapper !

Treyson is almost 15 - in another year, he will be able to be ordained a Priest, and will be able to bless the sacrament.

That same day (May 2, 2020) - Tagg received the Priesthood, and was ordained as a Deacon by his dad.  He can now pass the sacrament, and has done so.  It was particularly special when we had a family sacrament service in Grandpa and Grandma D's home.  As a teacher, Treyson prepared the sacrament, Zac blessed it, and Tagg passed it.

Before a person is ordained to an office in the Aaronic Priesthood, he must be interviewed by the bishop or branch president and found worthy. Also, he must be sustained in a sacrament meeting. With the authorization of the bishop or branch president, a priest may confer the Aaronic Priesthood upon another person and ordain him to an Aaronic Priesthood office.

Happy Day - Special Day

After the baptism and ordination - later in the day, we met at the Property for a luncheon.  It was a wonderful day, and I think I may have previously posted pictures from that day at the Property............however somehow the baptism pics didn't get transferred to my computer, and therefore, I completely "spaced" getting this whole wonderful day "blogged" about for documentation...........this lady is getting old.............

Special Baptism.

Our Sweet Payson is 8 year old.  He was baptized a member of our church this past Saturday.  He is now an official member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.  He was confirmed by his dad, and blessed with the gift of the Holy Ghost to help him make good decisions for the rest of his life.  What a blessing !   He has taken the 1st step along the Covenant Path.
A WHOLE bunch of loved ones were there to celebrate his special day.
With Great Grandpa and Grandma "D" (Dickson)
With Grandma "Ben" - look at those SMILES :)
And with us - Grandma Gwen and Grandpa Roger
\
Payson wanted this song sung at his baptism, and I was blessed to be able to play the piano and accompany everyone that was there.  This is a WONDERFUL SONG - take a listen !

And THIS is another song "The Miracle"  that I just love so much.

February Happenings so far

Well, we are more than half way through the month, so I thought I'd do a little recap.
Tagg got his Wolf badge at the blue and gold banquet
Yeah Tagg !
I think this was a Saturday?  I was watching the kids, mending Landon's pants, and Payson was fascinated with the sewing machine.  He loves to learn.
Here I am in the hospital.  I'm feeling alot better now.  Hopefully when I go back to the doc on the 24th, I can find out if I need more stents, or just what.  So glad I'm feeling better.
The Baptism of course
Wonderful !
Zac put the front end loader on the tractor, and drove it over and moved the big piles of snow.  Looking back, he probably didn't need to do it, because we didn't get any more snow to speak of, and it warmed up, and the snow is almost gone !
Thank you Zac :)
Treyson is finishing up Junior Jazz
I think he has one more game this Saturday.
He's enjoyed it.
One of Tagg's birthday presents was this awesome Dinosaur on the wall.  How cool is that?
Combined birthday party for the two birthday boys
Blowing out the candles
What a kid !
These two !!
The basketball game was moved into Tagg's room - looks like he's having fun here with Grandpa Jim.
This guy surprised me with a dozen roses on V-day.
LOVE HIM !!
And last but not least, WHAT a beautiful sunset there was last night, just as I was leaving work.  Life is good !

Tagg's Baptism Day

This sweet boy was baptized today !
We are so proud of his desire to be baptized.
He is a great kid.
He wanted his dad to baptize him, and so he waited, and it happened !
Zac did such a great job.  It was pretty nerve wracking for him, but he sailed through with shining colors.
SO PROUD OF HIM.
Happy Family
Treyson gave a talk about the Three Bears (of Baptism)
1. Bearing our Heavenly Father's Name
2. Bearing our own testimony
3. Bearing other's burdens
With Grandpa Roger and Grandma Gwen
With Rylee, and Grandma Shirlee and Grandpa Jim

I played the prelude and postlude, and opening and closing songs, and also the accompianment for the little Melendez girl who sang.  Grandma Shirlee and Aunt Pauline sang, "Gethsemene", while Aunt Claudia played for them. Grandpa Jim gave the opening prayer, and Uncle Landon confirmed Tagg.   It was a great meeting.  Tagg and Sirlei Melendez were the children from the 5th ward who were baptized today.  Such a wonderful day.  After the baptism we changed our clothes, went and supported Treyson at his basketball game (he made a basket!), and then we all met down at Chuck-a-Rama for a scrumptious buffet.  Can't beat days like this !
