Who would have even thought that feet measuring would go by the wayside?
When I was little, you would go to a shoe store, and they always had someone to get your shoes out of a box (or in the back). You would point to the shoe you wanted (on display), and then sit down, and a store employee would have you take off your shoes, stand up in your stocks, and step on the metal measuring device (see below), to check your size, then they would find your shoes, and sit down in front of you on the special stool (with a place for your foot), and with a shoe "horn", help you put the shoes on, lacing them up if needed. Boy times have sure changed !!! |
