Landon recommended this delicious place to eat ! It didn't disappoint. |
Pikes Place Market - Click here to find out more about this sculpture of the pig |
Next to the famous gum wall - we didn't get too close. |
Breakfast was YUMMY at The Hart and the Hunter |
Saturday was a beautiful day, and we caught the ferry to cross the bay to Bainbridge Island. |
A light jacket was all that was required. |
Fun to walk in the "country" - different than downtown Seattle, that's for sure !! |
Cutest little eatery we found in a back alley. |
Just a little "hole in the wall" place, that served up excellent tacos |
Love this picture !! Reminds me of Coco :) |
After our little walk-a-bout town, we headed back to the ferry terminal along the shoreline path. |
Love these two !! |
Our view from the Ferry as we were headed back to Seattle. |
There is Cam at the top..........waiting for us slow women. 40 year old who is pregnant, 84 year old who is amazing, and 60 year old whose hips hurt all the time ! Oh to be young and 17 once again !! |
Manda had to work a little bit - what are those.....? Do I see glasses? haha |
We visited Pikes Market each day, our hotel was only 2 blocks away. |
This is a view from Pike's Market. You can see the stadiums in the background, the ferry terminal, and the remnant of the old Alaskan Viaduct can still be seen. I remember it well, when Roger and I were here in 2007, and again in summer of 2019, the freeway was in the process of being torn down. Now there is just a roadway (with tunnel underneath) left (see foreground). |
Another piggy statue at the market. This day was Sunday, and it was overcast and chilly, with a bit of rain. |
We did the "locks" tour aboard Argosy. |
We traveled north out of Elliot bay, up around and through the Ballard Locks into Lake Union. |
More fun pics !! Manda is missing Bren and his beard. |
It was a great trip, and fun to be together. I'd recommend Seattle for a fun weekend !! So easy to get around, from the Sound Transit train from Sea-Tac to downtown, and then from there it's easy walking, and you can also catch a monorail, or tram to the Space Needle or Lake Union. |
