“If we keep no diary [journal], the path crumbles away behind us as our feet leave it; and days gone by are but little more than a blank, broken by a few distorted shadows. Life is all confined within the limits of to-day….”
Last Friday, as we were working to clean up the Property - kids (and adults) needed to be fed.
What is easier that Grilled Cheese sandwiches (and homemade tomato soup in the crockpot)?
They loved the LIFT (Look at Grandma !)
Mom and Bright
We made a fire and had some S'mores
This girl knows how to cook em'
Right at the end, they all got in for one last (and for some of them, the first) ride up. They went so high !!
Then they noticed that Jeff hadn't picked up the bales of hay, so they climbed up on them (with help from Grandma).
The "LITTLES" as I call them, are SO MUCH FUN. It is hard to see the older ones grow up, and get busy in their own lives, and as grandparents we aren't the center of their universe anymore.
Bright found a snake skin, she was totally fascinated.
All done, here comes the lift, ready to be parked in front of the shop.
They went up to see the dead deer near the road, and a "goat head sticker" - jumped up and got Brightyn right on her knee........... at least that's the story I got. She was hurting, that's for sure. Dang sticker weeds.
Grandma D provided Ice Cream
Back to our house for a sleepover, and BAES (is that the name?) were the RAGE !!
Bright made her some fingernails from silly putty
Next morning, bright and early, back over to the property to work (and play) again.
Bex and Bright helped to pick up the solar lights along the road.
Then we picked the last of the tomatoes
Good job girlies !!
