Headed North to Yellowstone on Tuesday morning. |
I West Yellowstone - we should have made a different decision. After it took us 20 minutes to get INTO the park. That should have been our first clue. |
Pretty scenery............. |
But the traffic was a nightmare. This is AFTER we turned around, and headed back OUT of the park. NO THANK YOU. Too crowded, bumper to bumper traffic, 5-10 miles per hour. YUCK. |
We headed North, and then West, past Quake Lake. See that mountain in the distance. It collapsed during an earthquake in 1960 something, and dammed up the river, forming Quake Lake. Pretty Crazy. |
We drove all of Tuesday, and the air was so hazy with smoke from forest fires (that we never saw), that you could hardly see the big tall majestic mountains. This was a disappointment for sure. |
On our way to Waterton Lakes in Canada, we spotted a young Grizzly bear, that crossed the road in front of out car. |
Waterton Lake - beautiful. |
Smile Rog ! |
Next morning (Wednesday) , we took a walk around the town. This is Cameron Falls in the background. |
See that black speck crossing the road ..............CLEAR DOWN the Street...... |
Zoomed in...........it's a young Black Bear. |
We kept track of it, walking parallel to it through the town. |
A little closer....... Pretty amazing sight. |
We drove about 15 miles to Lake Cameron. It was cold, rainy, windy. |
Then we drove back into the United States, and over the "Going to the Sun Highway" The clouds were down on the mountains unfortunately. |
It was sure beautiful. |
Still some snow. We drove all day, and that night we stayed in Butte Montana, and then headed home to Morgan on Thursday. A short trip, lots of miles. We were glad to come home. |
