Baseball in Idaho Falls

We traveled with Landon and Payson to Idaho Falls to watch Pays in a tournament.  Landon is the coach.  They were able to play 4 games over 2 days,  and won 2 and lost 2. 

This kid sure loves baseball. 

Best part about it was seeing Aunt Lynette.  She came and watched part of the game, and afterwards we had supper at Chick-filet. 

Re-hashing the games of the first day. 

Second day, Pays played catcher.  It was fun to watch him, and reminisce about Landon's catching career.

Assessor's Summer Workshop - Torrey Utah

We had a great time in Capital Reef National Park on Tuesday - June 21st
Me, Amy Jo, and Tami (look at all that gorgeous gray hair !) 

We hiked along a small creek/river bed, in about 3-4 inches of water, to the end where we found this waterfall.  

I would guess it was about 1- 1 1/2 miles (one way) 

Two days later on the 23rd, there was torrential rain, and flash flooding in the same area we had hiked !!  Wow, so glad we went on the day we did.   Click here for video of our hike. 

On Wednesday the 22nd, we were at Fish Lake

It was overcast, and a little chilly. 

We had a cadaver dog demonstration by Commissioner Valentine and his wife.  Lady (the dog) is quite the "sniffer".  She "found" the young man in black, who was the son of one of the attendees. 

We were also given a "round pen" demonstration by Denny, who is the Property Tax Division Director.  It was very interesting.   These are the "fun" things we did, besides our meetings.  It was a great time.  I'd love to take Roger D. back there, and of course my kids and grandkids, but it never seems to happen.

Bright also brought up this fun activity - mini "snow" globes.  We all made some, and put different stickers on top, so that we knew whose was whose.  They even made some for Cash and Cam, and they are still sitting on my windowsill above my sink until they come in August. 

This sweetie is getting older, and is expecting to do all the BIG KID stuff. 

They sure like the sticker/color books, and even got Grandpa to get in on the action. 

Love this picture, and the lighting, AND mostly the fact that Payson isn't pulling a FACE (which he usually does) - just like his Grandma Gwen did at his age !

Yardmasters hard at work

It's been a great year.  Kind of hard on Roger before the boys got out of school, and kind of hard working around their sporting schedules, but CJ and Zac are always great to jump in and help, and they have spread the work out over 5 days, so it doesn't kill them off !  They have picked up 6-7 new contracts this year, and it's keeping them BUSY BUSY BUSY

Thatcher sure was !! He's mowing up a storm, and handling the big mowers and riders just like his brothers.

June Happenings

From Memorial Day - going on 6 years.....where does the time go?

We really need to redo the walls  of the pit.  It's going to cost some money, and alot of hard work.  Don't know if it will ever get done.

Baseball finishes up

Payson had a baseball tournament in Idaho Falls in early June.  We were able to meet up with Lynette, and it was so good see her.  She was also watching her grandson who is older than Payson, play baseball that day, but came over to catch the last part of Payson's game.  Afterwards we had dinner at Chick-filet. 

We shared a room with Landon and Payson at a nearby hotel. 

Here is the team.  I was able to get to know the names/numbers of the kids on the team a little bit better.  They are a good group of boys, and Landon is a good coach. 

He also coaches Brightyn's baseball team !  
This night we went to a game was COLD !!

Cool and windy, as a storm was blowing in - but this girl was all smiles. 

I sure wish I would have had my phone out for the last play of the game, where the ball was hit to her, and she grabbed it, ran to first, and got the runner out. 

Bexlee plays T-ball too, and you guessed it - Landon is her coach.
We went to one of her games (see below), where it was much warmer.

I don't have any still shots of Bexlee playing T-ball, but I do have a bunch of videos.  I need to get them put together, and post on You Tube.
