Classic Skating and Fun

Still trying to play "catch up" with my posts.
On Jan 3rd we took the kids to Classic Skating in Layton.
Grandpa helped to hold kids up !

It was great - not crowded at all.
It was early day at school (the Utah kids had started back on the 2nd), so we were there by 2-2:30 and stayed till 4-5.
Treyson struggled, and I wish he would have kept trying.  Tagg finally got the hang of it by the end.
Cam didn't even try.  Her knee gives her problems, and she didn't want to injure it.

Payson was zipping around until he biffed it, then he changed to skates.

Bright was really quite good - I guess it's because they have practiced around their home this past Summer.

Payson's really did well with his INLINE skates too, and Tagg (by the end), finally got the hang of it.

The other side of Classic had bounce houses that were a lot of fun !

Playing a TUNE

Grandpa and Grandma D came over specifically to hear Cam play on her bass.
She performed HER PART (bass) from three different Led Zeppelin songs.

Her left fingers were FLYIN' over the strings on the top of the bass, while her right fingers were strumming the strings below.  She sure has a talent, and we can hardly wait to go down in a week and a half to see her perform on stage LIVE !!  Grandma Ben is going with us !

New Year's Day

We met at Mom and Dad's, in the shop, and first we enjoyed homemade chicken noodle soup and rolls.  It was so hot, Tagg burnt his tongue !  Also HOT CHOCOLATE.........even though we hadn't been out in the snow yet !!

Two puppies enjoyed the attention (if not the food) 

Then we headed out for SNOW FUN........
the Arizona girlie had to be talked into it !
Thanks to Great Aunt Joni (gee that sounds old - haha)  for sharing her snow apparel !!

And away they went !!

Zac pulled the kids on the toboggin, with our Ranger.
His is still in the shop (literally)  :(

Rex chased them around and around, while Talon just watched.
Talon finally was let loose, but his poor short little legs just couldn't keep up. 

Thatch was in the front most of the time, and he was BOMBARDED with snow, but narry a tear did he shed.  Such a trooper !!!

I've been bugging CJ and Shirlee to get me other pics that they took, but to no avail...........
So I'll just have to describe it.


We were planning on going to Bull Wars (Me, Rog, and Cam), and I was hoping to interest others to go with us, but no one wanted to :(   That made it so I didn't want to either, and Rog and Cam were just going along with me.........  I mean seriously, were we just going to sit around doing nothing?!?!


Then at the last minute (in the late afternoon), CJ and Zac decided to have a big bash at their house, because they didn't get invited to the annual traditional New Year's Eve party they usually go to.  Sad for them, but good for us!  They took pity on us, thank you very much !!   CJ went all out.  That girl is MISS PARTY AMERICA !!!!!




Shirlee and CJ kept things lively, that's for sure.  I manned the sink, and kept everything cleaned up (I love that part, seriously)  Kenzie and Blakeley came too. 
We had two deep fryers going, and Jim was the cooker.
Shrimp, salmon, egg rolls, wontons.......all homemade, home battered (beer and tempura)
They were SO SO GOOD.


They had a bunch of balloons, and every 30 minutes or so, the boys popped another one, for a new FUN ACTIVITY !!!


MOCK tails (champagne glasses, rims dipped in colored sugar, filled with cotton candy, and filled with 7up!  There were CHEERS all around)

It was such an enjoyable evening, and WE LASTED TILL THE NEW YEAR !!!!
Haven't done THAT in awhile !!!


I'm so sad that all of the pics were accidentally deleted :(
I've started backing up in the cloud now, so hopefully that won't happen again !!
