Daughters of Faith - Laurel Retreat

I haven't told you all about my fun weekend last week ! I was able to go on a retreat with about 50 16-17 year-old girls, and about 20 leaders. We traveled up to Little Bear Lake Lodge in Paradise, Utah (Cache Valley) - it was a fantastic experience. Here I am with my good friend Marcie Terrell.

The food was great - Soup, potato bar, pancakes, chicken cordon bleu

Much of the time was spent listening to different talks. We had so many great speakers, it was amazing !

There were a lot of fun games, that were built around cooperating with each other. This one is called "Magic Carpet".

As we got ready to leave about 3pm - it starting snowing terribly. I was a nervous wreck coming home over Sardine Canyon - but we made it !! Thanks Marcie !!

We came back to the church and presented a program and dinner to all of the women over 80 in our stake. Everyone had a great time.

Wow - Thursday sneaks up on me !! This will have to be quick, cuz I'm out the door to water aerobics...........

Scriptures: I've been reading them faithfully every morning. Without fail my day goes better.

Exercise: I know, I know....... you can't believe it. But it's true, it gives me more energy, and makes me FEEL BETTER !!

My Job: I enjoy it, even though it is CRAZY at times.

Amy - My friend in Spokane Washington called last night, and it was so good to hear from her. We email regularly, but haven't spoken in quite awhile. It was good to hear her voice AND HER NEWS !! Daughter Lisa has been accepted into Physical Therapy School - Way to go Lisa !!

Roger D. - I sure love that guy. He's a great husband and father.

New "Project"

Well, I've started going to Water Aerobics four times a week. There is a family who has a pool in Enterprise (about 9 miles from our home), and they open it up for aerobics, scout troop activities, scuba diving, etc. It is a salt water pool, and very deep in the one end. I took my Laurels there a couple of years ago, for a scuba diving activity. They loved it. After only a few times at aerobics, I can feel a difference. I need to keep this up !

I am thankful the snow is finally melting. I am sick of winter. It's funny though. Even through all of this snow, our driveway has been great when pushed. But NOT NOW - it is a frozen mess of slush, with a BIG HOLE that Landon's little car just about doesn't make it through.

I am thankful for friends. I went and bought some meat at the butcher shop tonight, and R.J. Spencer can ALWAYS put a smile on my face. He is a good friend.

I am thankful that Zac cleaned mom and dad's driveway off with the snow blower - YAHOO !!! We have been slacking on that one, with them gone and all, and they are coming home next Tuesday, and I was dreading having to shovel it all off.

I am thankful I made it to Salt Lake City, and back in one piece today. I am still nervous on the roads, and am always thankful to be home - safe and sound. Thanks for driving Steph !!!

I am thankful I can go to "Daughter's of Faith" retreat tomorrow and Saturday. We leave at 7am in the morning, and won't return until 10pm Saturday night. I am looking forward to it, and am thankful they wanted ME to take photos to document the event. We are going up to Cache Valley, to a lodge in the mountains. There should be about 60 (16-17 year old girls) and 20 leaders. Wish me luck !!

Lazy Sunday Afternoon

The kids and grandkids came up today for spaghetti dinner. I love it when they all come and hang out. It doesn't happen often enough.

What's up with us

I was writing a note to my friend Amy in Spokane, and I thought I would post part of it here. Then you'll all know what's up with the Rich's.

We are all fine down here in Morgan, Utah. Roger felt the earthquake on Thursday morning (the one in Wells NV) - he was on the upper floor of the office at the bakery. No one felt anything in Morgan that I heard.

Our latest addiction - American Idol. We have never watched it before, and this is the 7th season I think, and we finally tuned in, and we are hooked.

Work is going okay for both of us. Mine is getting really really busy - I've got deadlines looming, and I suppose it will all get done.

Zac and CJ's baby is doing well. He's nursing well, and that is 90% of the battle as far as I'm concerned.......that and sleeping. I guess he went for a 5-6 hour stretch the other night. Treyson seems to be adjusting okay. He's quite a rough house kid. It's because he wrestles with Zac all of the time, and he's always pushing and slugging, and such. He's a character.

Manda's work is going okay. Cam is cute as ever. She is getting so smart. The other day she asked me if I knew that my blood was BLUE inside of me? She also told Roger that chocolate isn't good for you unless you eat good food first.

I suppose you are keeping up with Landon on his blog. I'm trying to take his weekly letter, and break it up and do a post a day. Do you like it that way? I just know that when I look at blogs, I like to see something new each day.

Do you look at many blogs?
Here are some of my favorites, check them out

Confessions of a Pioneer Woman I can't figure out if she is a true cowgirl, or just a wanna be. She takes some great pics though.

Because I said so A women with 6 kids....... (not a Mormon if you can believe it :).....She is pretty funny, and even though we are out of that "stage" of life,it's entertaining

Arctic Glass This girl is originally from Utah (I think) - and now lives in Alaska, and is a journalist. She sure has a way with words. She is a biker, and is crazy if you ask me.

Shark Bait Always something new and fun.

Well, as you can tell, I spend entirely too much time in front of my computer, but one good thing.........my TV time has decreased :) We are going to get a TIVO - or something like that, so I can record WHAT I want, and watch it WHEN I want it,without commercials.

The women I work with are wonderful. Smart, funny, interesting, compassionate, kind, understanding.... I could go on and on. I like to go to work. We are all different, and yet we get along (five of us) really really well.

My husband supports me in all of my "doings". I really appreciate that.

My missionary is in a warm (HOT) place. One thing I don't have to worry about is him walking around in a blizzard. I don't know why, but that makes me feel better.

Grandkids......need I say more? What is that quote? "If I knew how much fun grandkids were.....I would have had them first"

Miscellaneous Moments

Gwen didn't have to work on Monday, so she watched Camryn and Treyson. They are sure a handful. 75% of the time is helping them learn to play nicely with each other. It was funny - a couple of months ago, we weighed both of them on the scales, and they were each, exactly 31 pounds. (Treyson is 17 months younger than Camryn). When they were weighed yesterday, Camryn was 32 pounds, and Treyson was 34 pounds !

Deer Everywhere !

A few days ago, we had 7 deer come down the road across from our home. They would have come right across our snow covered lawn if a car hadn't come along and scared them. All of the deer, elk, and moose are down in amongst the homes and barns looking for some food. This snow has really caused some problems for them. The Fish & Game are feeding them in some areas.
