Happy 9th Birthday to Tagg today !
Here is a link to his book
Wow, where have those 9 years gone, huh? Tagg is lovable, smart, inquisitive, sometimes ornery :), a loving brother (most of the time). We sure love him, and are so glad he is part of our family.
As you all know, he was in a pretty bad accident on December 14th. He fell off a tall retaining wall on to some cement while at scouts. He was wearing snowshoes, and throwing snowballs at the time. The fall really did a number on his teeth and left wrist. The fact that he had no head injury is pretty amazing, miraculous in fact. I believe he had a
little angel in heaven watching over him.
“It is generally believed that angels who come on earth for any purpose whatsoever are beings who have lived on it. This is confirmed by the Prophet Joseph Smith, who said, ‘There are no angels who minister to this earth but those who do belong or have belonged to it.’
President Joseph F. Smith suggested that it is possible that our departed loved ones may be sent to help us who yet live on earth. “Our fathers and mothers, brothers, sisters and friends who have passed away from this earth, having been faithful, and worthy to enjoy these rights and privileges, may have a mission given them to visit their friends and relatives upon the earth again, bringing from the divine presence messages of love, of warning, of reproof or instruction, to those whom they had learned to love in the flesh.” (Gospel Doctrine, Joseph F Smith p. 435, 436)
I really do believe that Tagg was miraculously protected in his fall. The height of the fall was 10-12 feet headfirst, and even with the extensive damage to his teeth, there was not a mark on his face or head otherwise. How blessed our family is, even in this bad accident.

This is how he looked on December 14th |
|
Here he is the next day after visiting the oral surgeon and dentist |
|
Some time in January
His two front teeth have had root canals, and have been built back up where they had broken off. |
|
And finally, braces on (end of January)
Our hope now, is that the two front teeth remain viable, and stay in his jaw. |
|
December 14th- Wrist, badly broken |
|
December 19th - Pin put in place during surgery |
|
1st cast |
|
2nd cast - a couple of weeks later |
|
Third cast a week or so later..........which only lasted a day, because........... |
|
After being caught (with the 2nd cast) - of scratching his itchy arm with the lead end of the pencil.............(when they took the cast off, there were pencil marks up and down his arm), he decided he would be sneaky, and itch with the OTHER END of the pencil........and it came off under the cast !
A new one was put on a day later |
|
Gruesome !
The pin was removed in the doctor's office right before they put the 5th cast on |
|
5th cast on - the last one !
It was removed on February 3rd, one day before................ |
|
Baptism on February 4th
(notice the little bandaid where the pin was)
So GLAD this ordeal is over!!
Happy Birthday Tagg - We love you !! |
